  1. I think she’s clearly very smart — but then again so was Nick. I really think we need someone who can unify our players to work as a team again. I’d be happy to get her if the FO feels she has the ability to really drive buy-in and culture. We don’t really have strong leaders on this team, Fred is closest and someone needs to call him out when he’s being selfish. I hope our HC can be that leader, instead of just an X’s and O’s person

Bob Myers trying to have a podcast is so weird to me

I like how she says she wants to build deeper connections with her players when she was talking about demar. She knows it’s more than just an x o game. Pop knows this too

Unlikely but I really hope she becomes the Raptors head coach next year

Here are some standout quotes from the interview.

“I would say I’m a uniter. I was the last person picked from the bench; I know what that feels like. I was the person that wasn’t picked all the way to being the one, “the chosen one” in a sense. So I feel like I have a lot of empathy for the in-between and really being able to pick up on different things…”

“One thing that I wanted to do was create an accountability factor. And how you go about doing that for me is being very clear on what the objective is, right, this is your job, this is what we’re doing, the expectation, you know, how you go about doing your job. and it gives you kind of a base line for accountability. Like, there are times when I would stop the clip and my best player is shooting a terrible shot. I would say “Hey, pass the ball” and then I’ll do it to the next person “Pass the ball.””

“It’s a pretty simple philosophy: if you are open, shoot it; if you are not, pass it; and if you see two, then definitely pass it.”

I don’t know about you guys, but that’s checking a lot of boxes for me. That said, I can’t imagine her leaving the Aces when she has the opportunity to repeat with a great team and an deeply supportive organization.
