Shams Charania: Sources: The knee injury 76ers star Joel Embiid suffered April 20 is considered to be more serious than a Grade 1 LCL sprain. He is currently doubtful for Game 1 vs. Boston.

Either the greatest smokescreen ever to throw us off our game or we really gotta take advantage of the situation

  2. Celticsddtacct

Reading between the lines, this clearly isn’t good for them.

  3. HailKyrie

That’s what happens when you flop nonstop. Sucks tho

  4. Damn. Wanted to beat them at full strength so that they wouldn’t have any excuses.

I hope that Embiid recovers from this without issue. And I also hope it discourages him from flopping like a fish every play.

Imagine if Embiid doesn’t play at all in Philly’s most important series of the process era.

It’s fuck the Sixers forever, but man you have to feel for them at least a little bit.

Knowing us, we gonna lose game 1. Team always plays down to competition.

Idc, Celtics gotta play like he is healthy and going.

Don’t play down to them or feel like they have the W in the bag

  8. BananaStandBaller

They are not playing games or using smoke screens here. They are leaking out more and more info to protect Embiid from expectations of playing. I don’t think we will see him this series, which is crazy.

If he’s got anything more than a grade 1 LCL sprain there’s no way he plays again this season.

Hot take.. Celtics are way more likely to lose if embid doesn’t play then plays. Has nothing to do with talent it’s just the mentality they have when they think it’s gonna be easy

While you never want to see guys get hurt, Embiid should know that he’s been prone to injuries in the past and him throwing his body around to the ground trying to bait calls is risky. Hopefully he isn’t too hurt and learns from shit like this

Damn looks like we might not see two 30 ppg players go at it in the playoffs for the first time in our lives

  13. vegt121

76ers still a solid team without Embiid. Just don’t play down

Sometimes you have bad injury luck. Sometimes your best player throws themselves on the ground 40 times in a 1st round playoff series against a bad team.

Honestly, I really feel for the guy. He’s an incredible player but he’s had awful luck

it’s gonna kill me if the Celtics blow a Mickey Mouse Finals run

I hope Doc Rivers plays Montrezl Harrell like 40 minutes. Seriously I don’t think we’re gonna take this game likely because Philly has no one to protect the rim. That means more lobs for Rob and a clearer path to the bucket for the rest of the guys.

This has to be the year we get a ring. It just has to. Everything’s going right for them right now.

Sixers fans just need to trust the process and everything will be fine, right?

Asides from obviously not wanting to deal with Embiid, as a basketball fan I genuinely hope he sits out if its serious. Playing through injury is too glorified in some corners of this Fandom and I’d personally rather him not risk more serious injury when he’s already had multiple knee injuries and surgeries.

Would rather see his career longevity preserved than suffer a pointless injury in a series they were already at a disadvantage in.

I don’t care if this year is our easiest path to win it all. You can call it a mickey minie mouse ring whatever. Win is a win. We want that 18th banner.
