    If he can slide into his natural PF position, yes.

    heres a list of all ROTYS since 2010 up to barnes.

    * 2022 Scottie Barnes
    * 2021 LaMelo Ball
    * 2020 Ja Morant
    * 2019 Luka Doncic
    * 2018 Ben Simmons
    * 2017 Malcolm Brogdon
    * 2016 Karl-Anthony Towns
    * 2015 Andrew Wiggins
    * 2014 Michael Carter-Williams
    * 2013 Damian Lillard
    * 2012 Kyrie Irving
    * 2011 Blake Griffin
    * 2010 Tyreke Evans

    all of them made an all-star appearance in their 2nd year EXCEPT:

    * tyreke evans
    * michael carter williams
    * malcom brogdon
    * andrew wiggins
    * scottie barnes

    players who made all-star in their 3rd year

    * Ja Morant
    * KAT

    none of this is any real correlation to anything, but scottie barnes better be an all-star next year or else his trajectory ain’t looking so hot, unless people are cool with him being in the same pool as tyreke evans, MCW, malcolm brogdon, and andrew wiggins (and yes i know wiggins is killing it with the warriors but ideally not 7-8 years after he was drafted lol)

    and before people whine about how other players are in his way, he still won ROTY with the exact same starters.

    I wouldn’t look too deeply into this as we didn’t give Scottie the ultimate keys on a tanking team, and this team was as dysfunctional af and never had been a media darling. Also, the east is absolutely stacked right now …

    I don’t know about “breaking out”, but I expect him to average like 20/8/5 next season, if that’s considered a breakout season, then sure. His shot diet last year gave him to opportunity to get those numbers, but he was inefficient until February.

    Scottie is a ceiling lifter, I don’t think I’ll expect him to be a #1, the more good players around him, the better he’ll be.

    This year was just a mess, we did have good players, the team was the most disconnected I’ve seen since Masai, rough season for everybody.

    Scottie’s trajectory is pretty clearly down to him at this point. Fred calling him a golden boy and saying guys gotta decide they wanna grow up was pretty clearly targeted at him.

    There is a lot riding on this offseason. I hope he takes it ultra seriously, but I’m skeptical. He just doesn’t seem like the type.

    Fox became an All Star in his 6th year so it happens, even with the slow development

    All star selections are a joke though, I would never make a trajectory judgment based on ASG

  8. Can’t say I’m too worried. If theyove Fred or get a new coach who isn’t afraid to bench him, and Scottie gets a consistent, defined roles. He’ll be fine.

    Ant didn’t really break out as that guy until just this year

  9. There’s zero chance of him making an all star team with the roster constructed as is. Siakm takes most of the shots and Fred takes the next most. You have to put uo good numbers to make all star and his will always be stuck at a ceiling playing behind those 2.

    He’ll be a great 3rd option on a winning team. Lamar Odom Jr

    The way scottie improves in the summer and how he shows out next year is gonna be very telling for his future improvement. A lot of guys get caught by surprise in year 2, the great players put in extra work and come back better in year 3, the others just stay at the same level.

    Scottie ceiling is Andrew Wiggins Year 6 Lite
