Behind Jimmy Butler’s historic round 1 performance, the Miami Heat upset the #1 seed Milwaukee Bucks in 5 games. The Heat went from being a struggling three-point shooting team all season to now having one of the greatest playoff shooting performances in the history of the NBA. Jimmy Butler is putting up Michael Jordan numbers, and the result was the Bucks, who were viewed as favorites to make it to the NBA Finals, were sent home packing early.
By abusing Brook Lopez in drop coverage, the Heat were able to get Jimmy Butler 56 points in a game, and get guys like Duncan Robinson and Gabe Vincent cooking essentially every night. Even if Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injury hadn’t been a factor, it’s hard to imagine anybody could’ve stoop this Heat team.

They literally turn up the heat in the playoffs. We'll see what happens next round, and if they end up keeping this pace I'm sure they can go deep. If the Kings lose tomorrow in game 7, I'll be sure to root for Jimmy and the Heat.

I'm happy for the Miami and Butler because so many people were saying their 2020 series win over the Bucks was a fluke because of the whole "bubble" narrative and even though Butler had some dominate performances in that series, it was dismissed. Now, he's finally getting the credit he deserves.
