[Carlin] Doc Rivers says Joel Embiid didn’t do any running today. Still didn’t do much. Still doubtful for Game 1 tomorrow, but he’s improving daily.

Definitely feeling more optimistic than I did yesterday.

No running sounds very suboptimal for a imminent return lmao

  3. game is tomorrow and he still hasnt run yikes

Joel didn’t even have a knee brace while doing shooting drills and he’s improving daily. Zero chance this is a grade 2 LCL sprain.

Improving is good signs tho. Even if he misses game 1 seems game 2 is on the cards

Way more optimistic now than before lol, honestly wouldn’t mind him sitting game 1 if it meant he’s got a better chance of playing without limitations for the rest of the series

  7. TopGsApprentice

He’ll be back when we’re back in Philly

  8. CHRIRSTIANGREY

no fuckin lie… doc doubling down TOO much

this shit smells like gameplan and mindgames lmfao

  9. I think he will miss game 1 for sure, hopefully he will be back for game 2 or maybe game 3.

Bring him off the bench for the second half and crush the Celtics

Improving daily is an encouraging sign, if he misses a game so be it, but he is not going backwards which is a great sign. We need one of 2 in Boston thats it. 2 of 2 would be wonderful but its not make or break.

  12. I feel best bet is he is 90% himself by game 3 but I can’t see him playing until then. If he comes back earlier I’m guessing he’s very limited

They need to start reseeding .. Heat Knicks shouldn’t be playing for a chance at the conference finals. Celtics or Sixers are being robbed

Lol wtf is this thread. The most extreme takes on either side. I’ll just continue to assume he’s out until game time

Howie Roseman is the only man keeping me sane rn

Can we please get him a pool or somethin to do conditioning in?

  17. Primary-Lie3886

i say if we can take game 1 without him maybe sit him game 2 depending on how well game 1 went. if he can return for game 3 at home maybe that is a good route

  18. buckbreaker56

First game he comes back he’ll jump and land wrong and re aggravate it but probably play through it. Don’t expect it to be fun or win

    IIIIIIIIIIII, have become…. Comfortably numb.

Sixers have to be the most hated team that never wins anything lol. Why do so many people hate this team? Even when they were the treadmilling 8th seed team, people threw shade at them.

Here’s my theory. The weather has sucked the past few days with all the rain. I’m experiencing pain and aches from it and Joel is too. But when the weather clears he will feel much better tomorrow and be ready to play and dominate.

Yes this is how I’m coping.

I think he rests game 1. Ideally, we win that and he doesn’t have to return until game 3. However, is 4 days really going to make a difference? I feel like if he’s going to inevitably play in round 2, he may as well just play ASAP/
