Anyone who thinks that a scoring threat like Julius Randle is not needed is a fool.
His presence alone would heavily affect the Heat’s defense.
Brunson won’t get frequently doubled if Randle is on the court. He’s simply way too much of a scoring threat.
Randle is our best player imo. Brunson is fantastic too and it’s like a 1A 1B situation. Julius scores, rebounds, and kicks. He does it all. Brunson is more consistent but he physically can’t rebound like Jules (and he shouldn’t he’s a PG).
I hate all the Randle slander. He’s up there right now imo with some of the Knicks greatest players. If he can come back and help us win the series, he’s at least on Melo’s level if not higher imo. We get to the finals and he becomes on the 90s Knicks level for me…..

I don’t think Obi did a bad job, but Randle’s gravity on the opposing team’s defense is clear in this game. If RJ stayed hot we had a good chance. Outside of RJ when Brunson is out this team had no scoring. IQ clearly can be that guy when needed and he needs to step it up.
And I know easier said than done but… no going under screens on guys like Lowry and Vincent.

Obi had a solid game. But instead of his 20 points if we could’ve had Julius 25-30 I think the game goes a little differently. In a vacuum we still lose but I think his presence brings more than his few extra points
