i think Draymond and Looney will do their best to push out of the paint area and turn him into a jumpshooter. The warrior are also banking on AD not showing up every game

    donkey administering unlicensed contraception

If AD shows up defensively I think we will be alright cause the rest of our focus can be on the perimeter

Draymond is excellent at positioning and leverage his weight into putting bigger guys out of their spots (when he isnt playing dirty). He’s just too small to contest if AD gets the ball above his shoulders. Looney works his ass off but again he’s too small, even his long arms won’t do much. The Lakers still need to try and get AD the ball when he is on the move, that will negate any doubling or pushing him off the box

Pundits already writing us off. I can’t wait for the boys to shock them

Draymond as the primary defender, sag off shooters to pack the paint until the shooters prove they can make you pay, double with Vando’s man

Pray that Lakers take the shots given to them and hope to god Kevin looney beats Davis on the glass consistently. I see most the media predict big the warriors to close it out in the crypt because the warriors ar snow this away juggernaut. I got the lakers taking games 1 and 2. I think rest will be important

Hope AD comes out this series relatively unscathed with Draymond playing his dirty tactics

  9. Goatahmad

Draymond waiting in his landing space to injure AD then pretend it didn’t happen

Looney gonna be on him like white on rice.

Lots of doubling plus heavy doses of Dray and Looney

  13. No-Equipment-20

I’m sure they’ll alternate between using Looney, Draymond, and also sending doubles. Watching them defend Sabonis was wild, gave him all the space he wanted and openly dared him to take wide open mid-range shots. They will not do that to AD lmao

There’s a reason AD hates curry. Ever time he gets switch on him AD gets absolutely roasted and demoralized.

  15. cousin_brian

Draymonds gonna have to sit on him all game

They will be being very physical, like Memphis was. He’s going to get pushed around and hit a lot. They’ll load the paint on his touches so they’ll try to force him to shoot over the top or pass

I don’t know why this keeps getting asked. AD is his own worst enemy. He can’t do his every other game thing this series. He has to be the number 1 guy or we lose simple as that.

I always see these “how will X and Y try to defend AD in the paint” posts every series. Double team exists. Zone D exists. You’ll be surprised how good the GSW defense is. I love my lakers but trying to not jinx it with this kind of post. Just try to stay humble.

  19. If we healthy we got a shot. Those 2 duds offensively by AD last series cant happen though. He needs to dominate both ends of the floor.

The AD vs Looney show is the real game, whoever dominates the boards and paint wins

  21. Their going to try to injure him. I honestly believe that.

As dirty as Draymond is, the dude is an elite defender. I think AD is going to have a much harder time than we all think unless Ham is able to shake things up and get a lot of mismatches.

  23. when warriors were in hayday best team, kerr said they only had one weakness and it was AD

I know I’ll get downvoted for this because I’ve said this before and people didn’t like to hear it: AD is a finesse player. He likes to shoot a midrange instead of bodying guys up under the paint. That’s why he was so hesitant to play the 5 for so long. Draymond and Looney are rougher players, they don’t mind doing the dirty work in the middle and will hit and pull and push you where AD would rather shoot over or go around them. We saw this a couple of years ago when Ayton of all people shot really well against AD, 64% to 50%, and had only 1 less rebounds in all their games versus each other.

Looking at what Looney did to Sabonis, you can expect the same amount of pushing and fighting for position. He’s there to tire AD out while Draymond will helping them to run the offense. I expect AD to be a lot less efficient in shooting and have a lot less blocks because the Warriors’ shooters tend to stay outside rather than slash inside like the Grizzlies did.

The good thing is AD is a lot more physical now and seems to have accepted playing at center. Still, with the lack of Gabriel and Bamba in the first round, we may be really defensively lacking when AD sits, and I expect him to sit more against the likes of 2 good defenders to the Grizzlies’ 1 good defender. Lakers will have to really punish them in the middle when AD is in and run up a lead. Lebron needs to shoot better if we are to win, and guys like Rui and Reaves can’t have a letdown from the previous series.

AD always has problems with Lunnie on the boards so let’s hope we don’t see that trend continue.
