Gibbs was never going to be there at 45 or even at 34. There was at least one other team that would have reached for him. Our luck says that if we move back another team steals our pick just before us. Remember that the Gibbs pick also gave us 34, that seems to be forgotten. Linebacker and RB positions are also much cheaper for 5 year deals with their position ranking then almost all other positions.

Yeah, Yeah Yeah,……… Everybody has to come back down to earth in their own way….. Adham & Jeff have done a decent job in saving face and being responsible for logically figuring things out…… They did not……… Get wasted and fist fight with those who differ, (Looking at Eazy's facial makeup job and his seemingly inability to sit in his usual chair due to injuries, and Sped-Mo's fanciful story of how they arrived in such a set of circumstances that ended in him getting face punched a couple of times, and then acting like a character from Charlie Brown by putting on a football helmet and standing behind working hosts while on air and pouting, or what ever the hell he was doing)….. They did not abandon their responsibilities by simply running away and hiding from work duties as their "Go To Move", leaving their teammates hanging, (I look forward to seeing how Braylon tries to rationalize that mess later today)………… These are the two biggest things I noticed….. It will be interesting to see how all the Hosts & Support Staff shine this post draft week….. All Hosts, not just "Woodward"……….. So congrats to A & J, not so much to the three others mentioned above…… I'm not keen on watching so-called professionals act like tantruming children…… It's entertaining, but for all the wrong reasons……..
the new pieces give both BJ and AG new toys to scheme with. Good luck to the NFC. Lions on paper got so much stronger. They addressed their biggest liability with the secondary. not to mention there are UDFA that they can choose from as well. Should be a competitive training camp. I fully expect that CJGj, Jerry, and Sutton in rotation on the outside with Branch and Mosely being Nickel and then TWalk and Kerby on the Safety positions. I think Lions are way better now then last year. Lets see how they put it all together
With out the draft..we are already set as a team..every pick this year is not going to break us.. Their was no one player that we are going to sit and say, yup he taking us to the superbowl.. This draft is a role players draft regardless. We Got stars we got to pay in the coming years.! Good draft this year.

Brian branch was my draft crush csn play multiple positions. Every Alabama game I watched he jumped off the screen every time.
Wasn't a fan of LaPorta until I watched his tape and hearing guys like Rick Spellman long time vikes gm say he thinks LaPorta csn be the best te in this class. He's a crisp route runner and another weapon for goff. I love that they are sharpening the knife and trying to keep that offense top 5

Selecting RB Gibbs in the 1st round is a reach. Let's face it, the last RB selected in the first round that was EVERYTHING they said he was (and FAR more) wore number 20 for the Lions!!!

In addition to evaluating the value of Gibbs at 12, you have to remember that they also got LaPorta at 34. Essentially, they passed on one guy at 6 for two guys that immediately make an offensive impact.
