Sounds more promising than all the previous news the past few days

I mean if he’s not 100% for Wednesday he might as well take the time to ramp up and get right. Would love to be up 2-0 but stealing a game in Boston is as good as you could ask for

I think if Joel is feeling 80% our best scenario is him coming off the bench for 20ish minutes to ramp up conditioning and see how playing affects the knee.

If he comes back too early like KD in the 2019 finals and seriously injures himself we’re fucked. Sixers are in the drivers seat right now.

He definitely did not look like a guy who’s suffering grade 2 sprain yesterday, hope get back to his form

This is easily the worst injury he’s suffered in his playoff career right? Came at the worst time too smh

Game one win means the sixers can and likely will be super super cautious.

If he’s feeling good enough to try and play 15-25 minutes tomorrow awesome. If not, 0 point of trying to rush him back on the court now.

He should rest and be fully healthy for game 3. I don’t want them to take any risks now, his teammates did the job and got a win on the road. Rest up big fella, philly will be ready for you.

Boston plays just as well at home as they do away so if Embiid can play, he should do it. This is a golden oportunity.

Let the big man rest a few more days. We’ve got the James train.

  10. Winning last night was a huge luxury. There’s no reason just rush Jo back for game 2 in Boston.

Massive win last night. We can’t bank on Harden dropping 45 again but the Celtics also won’t shoot 68% from the field. If they can keep the turnovers down and play good team defense they could steal another on the road.

I’ll probably catch shit for saying this but I literally couldn’t care less about game two now. I was hoping to have the series at 1-1 coming back to Philly even with Joel at full strength. I’d obviously love to steal both road games but right now Joel’s health is priority number one. WFC is a fortress. I have no doubt with Joel on the floor at even 50-75% we take care of business. The key is that we need him out there so let him rest up.

  12. I’m no doctor, but looking like they’re scaling up his activity and seeing how the inflammation responds. If he ran today and passes the test, my guess is he’d do game simulation/scrimmage-type movement next. The more I think about it, I think he traveled with the team for the MVP presentation. My money is on g3 return.

Now that Wednesday is no longer a must-win game, I’m okay with the idea of keeping Embiid off the court until Friday. I think seeing how the team holds up without him for a second game could be very helpful – hopefully they don’t get stomped, but a game in which they at least make Boston have to fight for a victory would be good enough for me now that the momentum has been taken away from the Celtics.

Obviously if they win 2 on the road without Embiid it would be insane, especially given the possibility that he could return at the first home game after the MVP announcement. The key is to keep Boston on their toes throughout Wednesday’s game and not let them leave feeling too confident, even if they win.
