After winning MVP last night, during a quick 76ers celebration, Joel Embiid turned to the team and said: “I’m back.” Embiid is indeed on track to return tonight in Game 2 vs. Celtics barring setbacks, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

This is what you deserve for losing game 1 like a group of losers

  2. PabloShwartz

The tear in his knee has healed overnight!

  3. snicklefritzforu

I am crazy for thinking this doesn’t hurt us much? Gets the ball out of Hardens hands more and can’t imagine he’s close to 100%.

  4. Luckoduck

I mean he was somehow doubtful yesterday. Let’s see how healthy that knee is

  5. Beantown00

Should’ve won game 1 lol. If they’re bringing Embiid back after already stealing the first road game, maybe he’s not as bad as everyone’s made him seem

  6. CertifiedCapArtist

Oh great, their best player is back, meaning the celtics win handedly because that’s just what they do, I guess.

  7. Dondon1927

Back right in time to slow down the pace of their offense which plays into our favor. Celtics by 15+ tonight

  8. NotFlipkid

As they should they saw the Heat play last night. Why just win 1 game in Boston. Try to snatch the heart early. Good play Philadelphia. Celtics by a gazillion.

Nobody knows how healthy he is but the fact they are bringing him back after it was said he was doubtful for both road games is saying something. They smell blood and they know they can beat us tonight with probably a high fit Embiid which is absolutely embarrassing. A huge game for this group. If we lose I think we’re getting swept.

  10. He can’t be 100% and we should take advantage of that.

This is going to sound like insane copium, but let me assure you I’m not saying they’re definitely going to win. All I’m saying is that the style the Sixers play without Embiid has proven to be a bad matchup for our defense. And the style they play with Embiid in the lineup is a better matchup for our defense.

Again, I’m not saying this means they’ll win tonight or that the Sixers are easier to beat with him. I’m just using historical data to point out something that is pretty objectively true.

This is the best news the celts could ask for! Get ready for them to be locked in

  13. Ok_Acanthaceae6057

I’ve never seen this group have 2 bad games in a row.

  14. strawhat_dushane

Honestly not tripping. Cs in 6.

*Siri, play “All the Smoke” by Young Thug and Future* 😈

  15. ericdeben

Their Harden-centric offense was a bad matchup for us. I think Embiid coming back benefits the C’s, especially if he’s not 100%.

  16. doubledippedchipp

Alright, let’s test him. Make him run, make him defend. See how he holds up.

  17. strawhat_dushane

But I swear if Mazzulla doesn’t start and play Rob for more than 10 mins……

  18. super_duper_7535

A hobbled Embiid hogging the ball and slowing down the Sixers pace of play might not be a bad thing, honestly. Sixers pace and ball movement was incredible on Monday night.

  19. _greenzilla

Real series starts tonight, got em right where we want em. C’s in 6 ☘️

  20. Magnaleo

The better our opponent is, the better we play.

  21. AirJordan6124

This is good news. Our guys will have a Game 7 mentality

  22. Both-Classroom-7535

You gotta get him involved defensively. First 15 possessions you gotta get him into the action. Force him to move a lot on that knee, take the 3 if he wants to just park his ass in the paint

  23. I_Set_3_Alarms

Fucking fuck. Can’t believe we blew game 1. Especially since I thought if they won game 1, he’d rest game 2

  24. instantur

If we win this game the Embiid is holding back Harden narratives are gonna be crazy

  25. iAmTheRealLange

Hot take: We win game 1 if Embiid plays.

  26. FloweredWallpaper

Embiid or not, if they don’t get their shit together defensively it doesn’t matter.

They played an outstanding defensive 1st half of Game 1 against Atlanta, and periodically throughout that series. The rest of the time, they have been gross for whatever reason (boredom, laziness, coaching decisions, players just free-lancing it on that end of the floor, etc).

That’s pretty much it. Last year’s playoffs the problem was offense. That is (mostly) cured this year, but the defense is just optional now.
