They must have thought he was the GM of the Jazz, only explanation

Was looking to see if a Wolves exec ever got a vote and didn’t have to go back far. Sachin Gupta got a 1st place vote just last season.

Besides the Gobert trade, his Conley, NAW + 3 seconds trade and the Anderson, Rivers acquisitions etc. were great moves.
But yeah this is pretty funny

Clearly the vote came from Utah.

In general, I think this award is really weird, since it’s hard to evaluate GMs based on 1 year. SAC’s manager got it but the biggest move was done during last year’s deadline. I remember when SAS’s manager got it ~10 years ago when he literally did nothing, the team was just good.
In my opinion, Utah’s GM (or GMs since Ainge is there) should have got the award, they traded their stars perfectly on time and acquired a lot of assets AND still stayed competitive until they decided to tank. They developed an All Star from a guy who was just okay for 5 years. They also gave a new career chance to Dunn who was not playing for 2 years.
Connelly will always be associated with Gobert trade but other moves he made were very good. He assembled a competitive squad that did not plummet without their best player from last season. Had Wolves won 2 more games they would’ve been 5th and everyone here would have had a different opinion. Had Wolves kept 15 point lead against the Lakers they would have had a chance to take down Memphis.
Edit: also, why Pelinka is so low? Since they judge based on 1 season he should be at the top. Absolute masterclass of improving a team during the deadline.

Cleveland is up there at second. They had the same result as us.
