That’s I don’t think exec of the year should be decided until after the playoffs.

  2. blackjaku

Should at least be top 5 lol. We went from one of the worst teams to being up 1-0 on the defending champs in the second round.

  3. There are maybe 4 better.

    Kings
    OKc
    Celtics
    Denver

    Maybe

  4. I understand not winning it, but 11th is insane. Just further proves the laker bias in media.

  5. datastuff1

Okay, but the roster that he cleaned up was absolutely pathetic which was also his responsibility. It’s like rewarding your kid for cleaning up their mess.

  6. nottherealstanlee

Sean Marks over Rob is dumb af lol

  7. willsue4food

Love the team, and the moves near/at deadline were great….but yeah, I think a lot of voters didn’t like the idea of rewarding the arsonist for putting out the fire he started.

  8. Gristle__McThornbody

We need a picture of Rob with his hands on his knee with the Lebron look.

  9. The Lakers media bias is real when it comes to these awards.

How many awards did Phil Jackson, Mitch Kupchak, Kobe and Shaq win during their dominant run?

  10. Trentrid

What I don’t get – Mike brown isn’t any better of a coach this year than he was any of his other stops, he just has a better team. The voters are tying EOTY and COTY at the hips and that’s not right.

If sac is EOTY, then how can brown be COTY? The whole league just praised the GM for putting together a great team but also credited the coach for making them a great team? Let’s give Fox MVP and Monk MIP while we’re at it lol

EOTY should depend less on results and more on process since they’re not the ones coaching and playing. Rather providing the pieces

  11. Underrated_user20

I called this, there’s no way Rob is going to win based on how the EOY voting works.

  12. creditspread

Unfortunately, since the trades were mid-season, Pelinka didn’t play the requisite 65 games. /s

  13. Js_On_My_Yeet

I hope we win the championship now. I think Rob made the best moves at the deadline. Crazy.

  14. FreqinNVibing

He still nuked the team for Westbrick he just got really lucky to have been bailed out by Utah and Washington who undervalued Vanderbilt and Rui. If those options never opened up we’d be absolutely fucked for another year due to that catastrophic trade

  15. LAlakers4life

#THEY WONT GIVE US ANY INDIVIDUAL AWARDS THEN WE WILL TAKE 18 BY FORCE

  16. uncle_yugles

Westbrook trade can’t be held against him this year, that was last years mistake. How did his moves this year warrant 11th??

  17. KaLdapussydestroyer

It’s okay Pelinka. Be like AD. Got snubbed for DPOY without a single vote and No allstar but son-ed the reigning DPOY and allstars in the league.

We know you took all the executives to school this year

  18. invadrzero

He’ll have a middle finger championship ring to show them at the end of the year

  19. ProfessorTicklebutts

They hate the dude. Who’s they?

    Everybody.

  20. GreatAmerican1776

I mean, you kind of half to count the early season roster against him too.

  21. RadonAjah

Wow that’s ridiculous. From where they started to where they finished are a direct result of the moves he made. Exec of the year for sure.

  22. Jerry West brought in Kobe and Shaq in the same summer and didn’t win EOTY. Clown award. 🤡

  23. twistedinnocence8604

11th? Wtf? At least top 5 minimum with how’s it’s gone. If they win championship he’s definitely #1. 2-10 to championship would be hell of turnaround

  24. WDMChuff

Tbf he was cleaning up a mess he helped create.

  25. It’s fine that he didn’t win, but 11th is straight up disrespectful

  26. Viva_La_Animemes

Nah dawg even Skip wanted him to win but bro finished 11th 🗿

  27. Key-Cherry6709

You guys are delusional and suffering from insane recency bias. He had to unwind and insanely dumbass trade he did himself to get the team back to where it started. Not deserving at all.

  28. CradleRockStyle

There is just a lot of hatred around the league for the Lakers and we’re probably never going to win Executive of the Year because we are the “biggest market” and therefore somehow it’s “easy” to get players here and build a strategically sound team… Whatever. When we win a championship, Rob won’t give a shit about EotY.

  29. He was close to last for assembling the team when parts didn’t fit. Climbed all the way to 11th. Fair

  30. Guilty-Performer-745

If they win a chip this would probably be the best trade of all time

  31. StOnEy333

I’m not gonna pretend like I care about EotY.

  32. Considering he would have been fired had they not turned around at the deadline, I’d say that’s an impressive jump rather than a slight.

  33. Shoeguy24

Haters. Whatever – shut em up with #18 👀

  34. Aur0ra12

wow…NBA should be shamed of itself

Sean Marks????? That’s like me receiving the Nobel Peace Award for DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

  35. debtfreegoal

Means nothing. Only one award Lakers play for…

  36. goblue422

That’s a shame. While Rob deserves some flack for digging the hole the Lakers were in last year and at the beginning of the season, he also deserves a ton of credit for his moves during the season. If you average them out, then I get him not winning, but 11th is way too low. He should have finished in the top 5 at least.

Monte McNair is deserving winner though. Turning the Kings around is a big feat.

  37. After Joel wins MVP, LeBron gets 0 votes for MVP, I knew the voting was off. Casual Fans, smh.

  38. The list is a fucking joke. Never mind, i guess the title will be worth more to Rob than this.
