Per the 2023 Vote Tracker, Pascal Siakam Has Not Received A Single All-NBA Vote

Results can be found here: [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KMzwRcilLDej0BWl7eYE\_OYC9Tx9olI\_Ptn-nHjKfpQ](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KMzwRcilLDej0BWl7eYE_OYC9Tx9olI_Ptn-nHjKfpQ/edit#gid=2094680016)

Keep in mind these aren’t the final results but rather a collection of the voters who have publicly made their ballot known.

I won’t speculate as to how Pascal would feel about not getting an All-NBA nod or not, nor will I turn this into a debate over whether he deserves the nod or not. All I will highlight is him getting/not getting another All-NBA nod may affect, assuming no trades involving Pascal occur, whether or not he signs an extension with us this summer, as there is a substantial difference in what Siakam can make via a max vs. the supermax such a nod would make him eligible for, illustrated below:

It is also worth noting that next season, all All-NBA spots will be positionless so there will be less instances of having 2 guards, 2 forwards and 1 center listed for each of the 1st/2nd/3rd Team players, instead considering who are the 15 best players in the NBA.

I’m not surprised.. I don’t think he deserves it this year. He was not very consistent this season since he dropped off months at a time in the regular season. Also, he couldn’t lead his team to the playoffs. It’s good for the raptors that he didn’t make all nba so they can pay him a max instead of a supermax if they decide to keep him. Honestly, I think siakam had a better season last year compared to this one. He was way more consistent.

  2. the nba saved us from ourselves. last season’s Pascal was overplayed, had way too much of the offense forced through him with mid results.

that said, if he developed a reliable 3 ball he would have had a chance. If he was clutch he would have had a chance. Otherwise, he’s a perfectly fine secondary option on most teams and his contract extension is now in the reasonable range as opposed to being in the albatross category (which it would have been).

For a guy like Pascal who should have joy in their game to do his best, this probably works better (still be stupidly rich, but he won’t get the responsibility and hate that comes along with a supermax)

I disagree with “top 15”. Basketball is not actually positionless. The role of a guard, even very broadly defined, is very different than the role of a centre.

He didnt deserve it this year, one of the most ball dominant players in the nba, with relatively average production and a bad record, would’ve been stunned if he made the team

Thank God. He didn’t deserve it and hopefully he doesn’t get it next year either, having to give Siakam a supermax would be hell
