Because of my totally legit sample size of two games, Joel Embiid is worth a total of negative 38 points per game to his team.

    **NOT MY MVP!**

  2. ignatious__reilly

Celtics dropped 20 3’s and the Defense showed up tonight.

Absolute beat down. Philly needs to reset mentally because they look shook.

  3. Cheetah2Good

All those “the Celtics are overrated, MVP Harden is back” takes from 48 hours ago aged great huh

  4. Palifaith

Drone camera and Red Panda the real MVPs of this game.

  5. Maxamus24

Wasn’t as close as the score makes it seem

  6. insert_comments

Lol you know it’s a blowout when you break out the “sneaky athletic” lineup to close the game out.

  7. G1Spectrum

Man it sure makes a difference when the Celtics aren’t playing like a bunch of idiots

  8. TheOGBenjenRyan

My man Doc taking a victory lap after losing by 34

  9. Babushka5

After winning Game 2 tonight, during a quick postgame celebration, Marcus Smart turned to the team and said: “We’re back.”

  10. After losing by 34 points last night, during a quick 76ers team meeting, Joel Embiid turned to the team and said: “I’m back.” Embiid is indeed on track to return his MVP trophy after Game 2 vs. Celtics barring shipping delays, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.News

After winning MVP last night, during a quick 76ers celebration, Joel Embiid turned to the team and said: “I’m ass.”

Embiid is indeed on track to lose in Round 2 vs. Celtics barring miracle, sources tell

Embiid gonna get his number retired in Boston at this point

  13. MegaGorilla69

You knew that shit was over when the Celtics had four white guys on the court

  14. Honestly the most predictable outcome after two games with Embiid coming off of injury. The Celtics would manage to be competitive with the 96 Bulls and the 2012 Bobcats.

As a footnote, someone is going to be pleasantly surprised when they’re able to give Pritchard a bigger role. Man’s a baller and deserves a consistent opportunity.

  15. Your__Pal

Largest loss in Sixer postseason history. Brutal.

    Onto game 3.

  16. TheLoneWolf527

Stephen A was 100% right. There was no reason at all for Embiid to play tonight. They were almost certainly going to lose and it would have been better to give him a little extra rest.

  17. downlooker

Thank God Embiid was good to go this game

  18. ColdWarWarrior

Can the NBA not afford a better drone cam? It looked like a 2k game.

  19. crunk_alligator84

Embiid is the most valuable player because both teams wanted him on the court.

  20. Lawful_Rebellion

Celtics did what they were supposed to in this game. I think there’s some optimism to be had going into Game 3 given that Jayson Tatum had a stinker of a game but still won by 30+.

Can’t expect the same performance from Harden in Game 3 but I think the Celtics are still ready to answer and retake home court advantage next game.

  21. spiderman2811

What a returning mvp does to a mf team

  22. BatterMyHeart

Someone please post the highlight of Embiid missing from 1 inch away.

  23. Acrobatic-Dog7044

Post Embiid’s stats you cowards you already posted Tatum’s bad stats tonight.

  24. Comfortable_Wish3026

Nikola Jokic has averaged 27.7 points, 13.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists in 7 games in the 2023 playoffs with only 1 loss in over time so far

Joel Embiid has averaged 18.8 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists in the 2023 playoffs while recently losing by 35 points.

    Fake MVPs: 15 points, -23

    Real MVPs: 15 points, +23

I genuinely think you can take whatever narrative you want from this game and technically feel good about it.

    ————————

As a Philly fan you can say Harden isn’t gonna shoot 2-14 again, and the team as a whole won’t shoot 20% from deep. The Celtics aren’t going to hit 20 threes every night. You already stole one game in Boston, and now you’re returning home where you’ll have the advantage. Going 1-1 in Boston is an absolute win, it doesn’t matter how badly we lost game 2.

    —————————

As a Boston fan you can say you won with Tatum scoring 7 points and playing only 19 minutes, and Horford going 2-10 and 1-8 from deep. Harden and Embiid both played and you made both of them practically irrelevant even though Embiid started the game on a tear defensively. Now you have all the momentum going into Philly with confidence.

    ———————-

As a neutral fan you can hot take and say Harden is better without Embiid, and is best offensively when they can spread the ball out and play small ball. That Embiid down low and needing the ball diminishes how good Harden can be.

You can also say that Brown is better/more consistent than Tatum, and will obviously leave the Celtics next year so he isn’t in Tatum’s shadow.

    —————————–

No matter your view on either team, basically every narrative “won” tonight.

  27. shadratchet

I am not here for Embiid hate, and I don’t blame him for losing to a motivated Celtics team in Boston

But the timing of this game in relation to “I’m back” is pretty comical
