1. Yes, Embiid is right, if he is not going to be 100% any time soon might as well play. 2. The question becomes, do the Sixers prefer Embiid's 10-12 pts, 10 rebs, 4 blocks, etc. and not much from everybody else OR Harden 32pts 7 rebs, 8 assists, and the supporting cast in double digits? It is evident that they do play different without Embiid and that difference is really better. Now, people might say "we won 50+ games and swept the Nets in the 1st rd. ok, but the Celtics won 3 out of 4 against them and have historically annihilated the Sixers. The point? MATCHUPS. I do not know exactly why but against the Celtics, the Sixers are at a disadvantage. Why? The Sixers have to stay on outside the 3 pt line while Embiid works inside. It is a bit harder for Embiid to blast through Horford and both Williams. He can be contained. When he is not on the floor, they can spread better and attack the rim. That is my observation.
