We aren't in the position to draft for need. We have to draft for talent: 1. Vic 2. Scoot 3. Miller
Sort it out afterward and make the moves you need to make to improve the team FURTHER through trades after the draft.
This draft is buttcheeks. I'd honestly be bummed if we got Victor after watching Duren and Wiseman this year. Scoot had a so-so year and now BMiller and his drama along with scoring 0 (he was hurt) in the first game of the tournament. If we don't get top 3, I'd be listening to offers…
Jaden, Ivey and cade Cunningham have already shown. They are no Okafor or Noel. Killian might be a Noel.
I don’t disagree necessarily with the idea of taking the best player regardless of fit but that comparison is off-base.
Detroit is already doing that with their bigs, looking for a star in Wisemen, Duren and Bagley.
No one will be a star at Detroit there rookie year. Unless we draft Lebron or Zion. No rookies will get the credit they deserve in Detroit.
Cade will be a star imo. Ivey will be a solid nba player. Imo Ivey hasn’t showed me anything to the eye test that says he will be a star only thing that really points to it is his stats on a very bad team that I feel he should be able to do more since the team is so bad.
Pistons need to draft best player available. Talent needs to be upgraded on this roster. IMO this draft is just nothing but hype other than Victor & Scoot. Miller is the wild card of the top prospects. Don't see many players that can change the fortunes of a team.

Brandon Miller will work perfectly with Detroit.
How does Sam Vecenie now for sure Scoot will be superior to Miller or another top wing prospect? Two, as noted we do not need another rookie guard. Finally, If Detroit falls from top 4 it would not suprise me if Weaver trades down.
Background and character check on Miller. If okay, take him, perfect fit at forward. Else, Scoot will be another Derrick Rose, this time with knees.
Pistons draft board as of now imo. Wemby, Scoot, BM, Amen, Whitmore, Ausar, Jarace. Worst we drop is to 7. That’s a solid piece we will be adding along with free agents. Fit wise if we’re really sold on cade and Ivey then I think Wemby, BM, Whitmore and Jarace would be perfect fits
If we bring jerami back we'll have a better more experienced Brandon Miller for 3/4 years.
Draft scoot, decide what to do with the 3 guards later. Trade Bojan for a 20-25ish pick and draft Max Lewis who's a way cheaper Miller for a project.
What you don't do is passing on generational potential for good fit in a chronically tanking team. They're still in need of a superstar/top 20 player. Scoot could not the answer here, but Miller definitely isn't.
We don't know if Cade will be back from this injury for any length of time. He's great but injured a lot. That's why we should draft who's best, and not for position in my opinion.
