I know who the Grizzlies should sign to replace Dillon…

Lonnie Walker IV. Hear me out… we can afford him. He’s only 24. He was set to be the backup SG in LA and then the Lakers traded for Beasley. He’s been buried on the bench in LA since his knee injury. He’s got so much athleticism and I really liked him while he was in San Antonio. I think he could turn it around in Memphis and be a nice option that is a realistic get for us. Just go look up one of his YouTube highlight reels and tell me he doesn’t fit in Memphis! This is my pick until someone has a better idea.

  1. I don’t utterly despise the idea, for a vet min lmao, but I’m also pretty positive LWIV simply isn’t all that good. He doesn’t play meaningful playoff minutes presently, and the Spurs, who basically invented a lot of modern basketball, let him go for free. He’s on a one year prove-it/ring-chase contract with the Lakers, and he hasn’t proven shit

He may be a replacement offensively but definitely not defensively. He can be a defensive liability which is why he’s lost his spot in the Lakers rotation (even all the while Beasley was shitting the bed and was removed from the playoff rotation as well, instead of giving LWIV the minutes, they just shortened the rotation even further).

I thought the same thing too before the trade deadline. His game is nice and definitely affordable.

As a guy who’s watched him a lot, he is not a small forward. Not a knock down shooter and not a stopper or great help defender. If they didn’t have bane then maybe he’d be okay as a two next to Ja but he is not a small forward I don’t care what he’s listed as dude is a spark plug scoring guard who’s best skill on offense and defense is being athletic.
