>Of the players under contract into next season, trading one of the above two players is the obvious way for the Raptors to add some depth and/or draft picks to their diminishing reserve of both.
>Value is in the eye of the beholder, but from the Raptorsâ perspective, it makes more sense to move Siakam than Anunoby. He is older and more expensive than Anunoby. Despite that, he is also the more proven player, having already been a top-two/top-three offensive option on a championship team. **A team that is going for it could see Siakam as a huge piece of improving title odds. In as far as stylistic clashes are concerned, Siakam and Barnes are similar in that they are unreliable shooters who prefer to survey the court for a beat when they get the ball.**
Precious:
>Realistically, both Achiuwa and Koloko are worth more to the Raptors than other teams. This is the case with most younger players who have yet to secure full-time roles in the NBA. The Raptors have spent time scouting and developing them, and they have both flashed the potential to impact NBA games. Itâs the endowment effect, essentially. **For that reason, among others, I wouldnât be shocked if the Raptors and Achiuwa agree to an extension this offseason.**
Porter/Boucher:
>If the Raptors waive Thaddeus Young â more on him in a minute â and save $7 million on next yearâs cap sheet, they would be about $64 million below the projected luxury-tax threshold. Now, letâs pencil in both Gary Trent Jr. and Jakob Poeltl for $18 million apiece and Fred VanVleet for $25 million. Thatâs $61 million between them, and the roster not yet filled.
>**Now, that is a reason Iâd bet Trent will not be back, but in order to free up room to use part or all of the non-taxpayer mid-level exception/fill out the roster while still avoiding the tax, the Raptors might have to rid themselves of a salary.** Itâs never a position you want to find yourself in, because teams with space under the cap that can absorb the salary and not have to send back matching salary understand your position of weakness, and can try to extract something extra in with the player while sending back a top-55-protected second-round pick.

I wanna see OG in Raptor red till he retires, don’t leave us, our sweet prince

Unless OG wants out, the only âbig trade I could imagine is Pascal. It is hard to believe that the org would do not after all the support they have for him though. You wouldnât get much for a Fred S&T, and I doubt they donât re-sign GTJ to at least have some asset.
They will either do little, or some insanely imaginative stuff. I just hope it doesnât include Scottie đ

Trent is 100% gone. Either by S&T or letting him walk. I’d be shocked otherwise.
Porter has 0 value, doubt he’s traded.
Boucher has a good chance of being traded. If we care about fit at all, we need to dump a couple of PFs for a guard or center depth and he’s the best candidate.
Asking price for OG/Pascal are going to be huge. If either are gone, I’d expect a pretty big haul tbh. Like 2-3 FRPs and a young talent at least. Decent chance we keep both too.
Fred is S&T material. I think he’s part of the selfish culture and I want him gone. I’d be disappointed if we kept him tbh. I’d trade him to the Bucks, Clippers or Suns for a FRP ideally. Maybe they get desperate when they underachieve.

Thatâs what they are paid for. Itâs a conundrum. Arguably, other than OG ⊠who is more valuable to another team? Raptors prize siakam and fvv ⊠Agree Gary is gone I donât mind either or both of Fred and pascal going in order to see whatâs going on with those two ball dominants removed.
Itâs not like we are going to win with them. Basically proven we are not going to win with them as primaries.
Which means there value isnât that strong elsewhere ⊠unless to the exact right situation partner for each.

Trent, Fred, Barton, Banton, Young and Pascal will be gone.
Scotty, OG, Yak, Koloko, Chris, Flynn will stay

Siakam forsure but I doubt OG goes unless he wants too

I dont see a reason to move OG without someone overpaying. If ur building around Scottie, O.G. is like a perfect pairing next to him.
What_Huh_
I like OG but I like him on his current contract. I think his offensive game is what it is and won’t be improving much (if at all). OG on his next contract will very likely be one of those “he’s getting WHAT % of the cap?!” guys. If there’s a good deal on the table for him, I’m totally fine with the Raptors trading him regardless of how nice of a fit he might be with Scottie.

Has to be Pascal imo and I love the guy but he makes the most sense. Like Masai said at the deadline, more teams are pissed now than they were then and Pascal moves the needle more for those teams, and will get more back.

Itâs going to have to be trade Siakam if I had to choose sorry Pascal đ

As much as this pains me to say it Siakam might be the player we have to trade to change the team.

I thought it was all Nick Nurses fault and how he’s running the starters to the ground.
Why would we trade our starters /s.
VZYGOD
I think the real piece that we have to trade is Siakam. We already drafted his replacement with Barnes. OG needs to stay whatever he lacks offensively he can make up in defence. The SF position is stacked and you need guys like OG to be able to guard them. On top of that we need a pass first point guard that can hit spot up 3s and actually finish around the rim. Even someone like Tyus Jones would be better for this team than Fred.
Only way Barnes can become more of a scorer is if he gets more touches and opportunities. The roster needs shooters to space the floor. There are so many 3+D role players in this league that would be great in this system. I donât think we can get a guy who averages 27+ a night so weâre gonna have to aim for depth.
