[NBACentral] Brian Windhorst says the Knicks are monitoring Giannis Antetokounmpo’s situation in Milwaukee. “The New York Knicks, for example, they got 97 percent of their attention on the Miami Heat, three percent of their attention on Milwaukee.”

I’d trade my momma for him

Throw in my sister to seal it

I really don’t get how they get away with this stuff. Giannis ain’t leaving Milwaukee anytime soon lmao

I highly doubt Giannis will ever be a Knick. We drafted his brother Thanasis and IIRC he hated his time here and has gone out of his way to shit on the Knicks org.

I can’t find any relevant news articles with Thanasis quotes after a quick google search but I definitely remember reading that in the past

If Giannis even hints at a trade every team in the league are gonna monitor the situation. The FO wouldn’t be doing it’s job if they didn’t look at Giannis.

We don’t have the shooting to accommodate Giannis

  6. I think I’ll give the Bucks tree fiddy and 5 2nds for Giannis

Gotta hate the media when they do this. We’re deep in the playoffs trying to get to the finals and instead they’re making fake trades that will never happen.

The nba media is obsessed with one thing for the Knicks trade for a star, sign a star, get a star

It is an entirely self servicing narrative so they can drive more engagement and clicks, it has nothing to do with building a sustainable long term winning team.

We’ve seen time and time again that a star joining a team with no culture or winning pieces is doomed for failure and those that do keep their key team in tact get success.

Lebron joining Wade and his already good heat team got multiple titles

Kawhi joining Toronto while keeping their core in tact got a title run

Melo going to the Knicks while dismantling most of the team got 1 playoff round victory

KD and kyrie joining the team and subsequently trading everybody for Harden doomed them

The Knicks window is just opening up now. This is the 2nd youngest overall team in the playoffs and someone else posted about them having the youngest 9 man rotation of all teams.

They are legitimately at the steps of the ECF.

You don’t have to dream of anything you’re already there. They have to be very careful of how they add pieces because you have a legitimate 5+ year window right now. NBA talking heads don’t care about your success they just want movement

Here come the “oh we can’t trade (name anyone better than a salary dump or future pick in return for an elite HoFer)” nutbags.

There is NO one on this roster you don’t trade for Giannis if it really comes down to it. Maybe there’s ONE guy, JB, because we’d need to fill the same hole we’d had for two generations of fans… but please, spare me your “not for IQ or Grimes” BS.

The guy has already had twice the career Ewing had, and he’s the best and most impactful player of my lifetime for this team (and hell, id trade him too!)

If Giannis doesn’t extend every team in the league is monitoring. But purely speculating….

Randle Barrett Robinson and whatever is the most draft assets the Knicks can offer is the starting asking price for the Knicks.

  11. Imagine a lineup of Jalen Brunson, Quentin Grimes or Iq, RJ barrett or Josh hart, Julius Randle and Giannis!

  12. This is ridiculous, Giannis is not on the market. And if he was, we’d have to throw in absolutely everything ti get him

  13. We don’t need to gut the whole team for Giannis. We aren’t far off a title contending team. A second tier star alongside Brunson and Randle is good enough to take us all the way

  14. Giannis seems pretty loyal. Honestly, I don’t think Bud would have been fired without the front office consulting with him to some degree. If Giannis wanted him to stay, he would have stayed… Giannis’s brother is still on the team because of nepotism, so its not that much of a stretch that their generational talent would get to play LeGM.

This story happens with a different star player seemingly every year. 100% focus should be on Miami

I’m going to get down voted for this but I can’t stand the way Giannis plays and don’t want him on the Knicks. He can’t shoot beyond 15 feet, he’s terrible at free throws, and he doesn’t have a high basketball IQ like lebron or even a Kevin Durant. I would much rather trade for joel.

  17. bsanchey

Front office doing their due diligence cool. I doubt Milwaukee ever trades him. But maybe they do because you’ll never recover if he walks for free. We’ll see what happens.

  18. manfromfuture

That’s just something you say to the press when asked about Giannis.

  19. DisplayAcrobatic

OKC thunder. Let’s end this discussion rn

  20. Living_Internet_2970

Let’s not do this again please

  21. I am monitoring the situation with Ana de armas. League sources say.

  22. Aaaaaaandyy

I mean, that would be sick. But I only care after the playoffs (and our subsequent finals win) are over.

  23. cchinfong

He was clear he would never join the Knick cause how we did his brother dirty.

  24. It would make the Wemby sweepstakes seem like a $1 scratch off lotto card

  25. teknomatic

They’re not even waiting until the off-season to start these “(insert star here) and the Knicks” bullshit rumors

  26. rmccarthy10

The Pels would give up Zion and whatever for him…

OKC would give their pile of 1st round picks…..

    We dont have the juice….

    Lets focus on Miami…….
