Raps Fan Coming In Peace With An Offering

Found myself quietly frequenting Ripcitys sub for awhile now and I really don’t mind you guys. I would get downvoted to hell from raps fans if I posted this in Raps sub, but wanted to see what you guys think. Judging by what I’ve seen from you guys on Nurk, does Dallas just throw up immediately ?

No but you can have Dame for Barnes and FVV. Go chase a title with Dame, GTJ, OG, Pascal, Poetl, and the rest of your deep bench.

If we end up with a top 4 pick. Siakam is not on my list of players I’d send that out for. I’m also not sending 2-3 picks along with it if it’s not a disgruntled top 10 player.

We send out a starter center and a budding young guy and way too many picks for a player who doesn’t even fit our team.

I don’t mind it at all. I don’t really know how Grant would fit with Siakam but the value in the trade seems pretty solid (at least from the Blazers perspective)

This looks great, sign me up. Not sure how into it Dallas would be though

Very close to a deal I’d do. But the draft capital is a little steep for what amounts to a 1 year rental of Siakam. The return on Nurk and Nas is a little underwhelming but I do actually like Reggie

Pretty sure any blazer fan would say yes to this as long as that frp is not the top 4 pick.

Ant, Nurk, Little + two frp for Siakim

That’s a solid deal in my book. Would be better if Siakim signs an extension then trades – a one year rental isn’t good. Look at the Kyrie situation.

I’ve been sold on moving Grant to SF since he is allergic to rebounds. Siakim would play perfectly at PF.

That many players + picks for what is prolly a one year rental of siakam? No thanks. This team is better off developing the young talent and seeing if dame can still do some amount of a carry job to get the team to the playoffs. If he’s not in for that, hope he goes to the gm and it’s all handled amicably and Dame gets to go live out the rest of his career wherever he wants.

Really depends on where the lottery lands. If our pick is top 5, there is no way we do this trade. If we get unlucky and it falls, there is a chance we may consider something similar.

Siakam being an expiring makes this a little spooky as well. POR is giving up a promising young player and a top pick, plus a future first for a player who is not guaranteed to resign.

  9. No thanks. Raps fans seem to think Siakam and OG have the same value they did last off season. They don’t. They’re both now expiring contracts and entirely possible to be 1 year rentals and the league knows raps are trying to blow it up.

PLUS, and almost most importantly for Portland, Siakam doesn’t solve anything. He’s a better version of Grant and they don’t go well together without an elite rim protector and elite POA defenders in the backcourt. Neither of which we would have. And no, Javale at damn near 40 years old who couldn’t get on the court for Dallas is NOT an elite rim protector at this stage.

2 firsts, Simons, nurk, little, for siakam and bullock. LOL

That leaves the cupboard pretty bare for us to make any additional moves and McGee as our center sounds pretty bleek.

It’s a lot for Siakim, I think we’d prefer just to make that Simons for Siakim swap with some extra sweeteners. This is a good conversation starter because if we’re aligned that the Raptors would want Simons and we want Siakim then there is potential.

I don’t like it. Don’t love the fit with Siakam and grant, but we are also giving up heaps for possibly 1 year of Siakam.

I think going for anybody on a expiring contract is very risky for the blazers this year because we could still suck next season. And I don’t see Siakam or OG resigning with us if we aren’t a contender. If we are going all in, it needs to be a for a contract that can be flipped next off season if it all goes to shit and we need to rebuild.

Raptors fans. You have to understand. *You have no leverage*.

Siakam is an expiring and your FO obviously wants to go young. They don’t want to pay him. You are not getting that haul for an expiring fringe star who kinda sorta squeezes into the all star game every 2 years in a weaker conference.

We also have a TPE that fits bullocks entire contract. There is 0 reason to throw him in here when we could just use that to get him if we WERE gonna spend a first for him (which we wouldn’t).
