    For what reason. It's not like someone was going to steal Paolo from them. Woj is trying to clean up the fact he got played. He announced that the top 3 were set almost 24 hours before.

    There is nothing great about this "we shall outsmart ourselves" secret move that disrespected the process and a young player (Jabari) by not bringing in Banchero for a workout. Basically they drafted a player after watching his mix tape. What if OKC or Houston traded up and took Banchero because they thought he was the run away top pick? (Clearly no one but these geniuses ranked him that high.) This top secret lets lie out the side of our face and not do a proper evaluation cause we have no real plan to build a competitive team move is bogus. As a fan I'm more upset with the lack of a plan/process than the pick. They have not drafted 1 legitimate starter since taking over. No point guard. No shooting guard. No 3 point shooter except the guy they have failed to develop and are clearly willing to let walk.

    I wonder what Orlando is going to do with Jonathan Issac now. Once a promising Prospect that had his career hindered by injuries. Orlando and Detroit will both he playoff/Play In teams next year while The Atlanta Hawks and The Chicago Bulls will most likely be taking a back seat.

    All the top 10 drafts of 2022 will accomplish more than the 2019 No. 1 draft before he starts his NBA career.

    Don't believe it for even one second. There's not a chance that that incompetent organization, which has peaked 2 games over .500 in the last decade, was playing 4D chess. Zero.

    A much more likely explanation: They saw Paolo getting hyped up, bought into it, and decided to pick him and try to bait Houston into trading up. They said no, because Chet and Jabari are much better fits for that team, and Orlando got stuck holding the bag. You go with BPA. They didn't.

    And to anyone who wants to say "Well Woj said this is how it is" or "Paolo said it" or "Their dumb GM said it" bear in mind Woj is simply a mouthpiece that repeats what he is told, and the organization and Paolo's agent are 100% willing to lie to make the situation look less ridiculous than it is. They never met with him. There was no workout. His very confused, borderline angry expressions were genuine, his utter lack of enthusiasm in interviews, pictures, etc. He did not want to go to Orlando. He continuously blew them off trying to avoid it.

    To be clear, Paolo is a good player. He fits well with that team. The issue is, Jabari also fit well with that team and was better. Similar situation for Chet. They didn't go with BPA and made fools of themselves an hour before, and two more well-run organizations were happy to watch it happen.

    Everybody in Vegas knew. Big money was always on Paolo. Yet the media has no clue. Woj gets bad information for the first time in a decade and he still can't take the L. Paolo was obviously number 1 before Duke got knocked out, and all of a sudden all the analysts changed their picks in unison. This was just a bunch of media members repeating Woj's take because they assumed he's always right and they didn't want to be wrong.

    If i was the magic, I would of traded down the draft just because of the history of magic #1 picks. I'm convinced that Paolo will leave to go to the lakers one of these days.

    I still don't get it cuz even if you advertised his work out session more than Jonny Davis's taco bell commercial, no one can go ahead of you as you have the #1 pick and steal him. I'm sure a lot of people made a lot of money betting on him but things just smell fishy to me frfr..

    Magic need to move Isaac, Wendell, or Bamba. You can't have 4 big men and inefficient to keep all. Best way to keep 2 from Banchero and Wendell then trade Isaac and Bamba. Either get a veteran to help hone their skills or future draft assets.
