I keep hearing Curry is top 5 over Kobe and he’s the greatest PG of all time. Why is the media crowning Steph with all of these titles when he doesn’t have the same accolades? Is it just recency bias? Because I’m sick of it

    100% recency bias

Lots of people watching the sport never got to witness Kobe in his prime

  2. How could people watch Steph and think he even comes close to Kobe lmao

  3. TEJISSAJATT

All good these bums need some revenue to report, let’s focus on sending curry back home to SFO

  4. Because those people just want to hate Kobe

Notice how when a current player does anything great Kobe is always the person they want to compare to. Nobody ever goes “let’s compare player X to Tim Duncan”. Tim Duncan’s greatness never gets questioned. It’s all bias

Recency bias, greatest shooter title (it’s always best to be the best at something), lack of knowledge and respect for other legends’ careers. Also, reliance on nebulous “he changed the game” arguments.

I think everything will sort itself out when he ages and cools down.

Steph has moved up on my list no doubt! If this guy had Kobe’s size and could play defense we probably talking about the Goat but that’s not the reality. Offensively I’d give him top 5 but guys like Kobe, Lebron, Jordan these guys also guarded your best player. I just can’t ignore that

The late great Kobe had every trick up his sleeve. Aside from his great dunks and legendary fadeaways, I don’t think it is fair to put Kobe and Curry as a top 5 versus Kobe just on the basis of “He changed the game with the 3.” Kobe was an icon while Curry changed the game with the 3.

Kobe has never been a media favorite. its the players that respect him which in my opinion matters more so try not to let it get to you.

  9. KillaCatz

Imagine ur top 5 player losing finals MVP to Andre Iguodala lol

  10. LakeShowBoltUp

The same people saying MJ was better than Kobe bc 6 chips are more than 5 are the same people who will tell you Curry and his 4 chips are better than Magic and his 5.

I’m 48 and Magic Johnson will always be the best point guard ever for me.

Steph is literally the nba’s golden child

  13. I would like to see Curry on a different team and see how he does. I don’t think he would be very successful at all if wasn’t on Golden State. Think about it, he has had the same core of Green, Klay and Steph, same coach, same team with the highest payroll and desirable location, great front office. Curry has had every advantage to surround him with all the right pieces. It’s surprising he doesn’t have more rings, tbh.

  14. Dagenius1

He’s great but part of it is that Curry is the most loved superstar in recent memory. I can’t think of a player who folks like so much.

  15. TabmeisterGeneral

The media is always trying to crown a new king. I still have Durant over Curry all time.

  16. Alert-Towel-263

To be fair, he’s the greatest shooter of all time and has 4 rings

but Kobe > Steph all day. No bias

People love Steph because of his career path. He has stayed with the same team instead of hopping around like Bron & KD. When Klay and Dray started getting older, Steph stuck with them even when Klay missed those two years. But Bron left Wade as soon as Wade started to age. So people love Steph because he’s loyal to his teammates and franchise. He’s a throwback player.

Recency bias. He won last year and dropped 50 in a game 7 so he’s at the front of everyone’s minds. He’s building a top 10 case but he’s not there yet imo. Maybe if he wins another ring. But the same way I asterisk Durant’s rings I do the same for Curry. Easiest rings I can remember.

Why is Lebron so clearly above Kobe then? He is not even the dominating best during his time. He lost to Dirk, Kawhi, Steph and KD.

Nobody has more media crowing than Lebron himself.

  20. KyrieWetUpCurry_

Dropping 50 on a young Sacramento team stamps you as top 5-10 these days.

  21. cmondawg74

Lebron hate. They elevate steph to discredit lebron. It’s Jordan stans who can’t fathom the notion lebron is better than Jordan. So they use this round about argument steph is top 5. I promise you if you look into who’s making these wild claims about curry, 95% chance they are a Jordan stan.

  22. KDNeedsMoreHelp

Recent bias. Years after Steph retires most of us will remember him as shooting wide open 3s from illegal screens and two of us titles won’t hold as strong to the others due to KD. No one in their right mind would pick Steph over Magic 💯

  23. Gengo0708

Can we take a moment and appreciate the irony that lbj is on the lakers fighting for Kobe’s legacy in this series? We all know the media is going to crown curry over Kobe if they win. Lebrons place is secure.

  24. Wierdish

This just makes you look like a homer. Steph is the greatest point guard of all time.
