Lol he’s not even better than Magic start there first

  2. swishanddish23

I think if steph has 6 rings, and 3 FMVP, that might be pushing him into the top 3? But even saying that sentence…. Seemed to be hard to say when comparing with all the greats 😰

  3. ahr3410

Can anybody name something Steph is better at other than shooting?

  4. He has to have 3 more finals mvps and 2 more mvps and at least top 10 all time scoring.

  5. ThaEternalLearner

If Steph wins this yr and next yr, that would mean he 3peated and he would have 6 rings. That’s what it would take for him to pass Lebron in my eyes.

  6. winter-r0se

stephen a & wilbon are mj’s golfing buddies. they need to shut the fuck up

  7. newyork1198

A start would be growing 5 inches in height and 50 lbs of muscles. Can talk then.

  8. KDNeedsMoreHelp

Curry has never in any season been recognized as the best player in the NBA. Discussion over 😌

  9. Silly-Message-5076

The media is obsessed with Curry it’s so annoying

  10. eateralum

This was the media narrative with Kobe and Bron. Both are GOATs in their respective game. They’ve both accomplished very great things. Simple as that.

  11. leandroeog

The only answer for this is: being born again

  12. Top-Consequence-911

They act like LeBron’s career started in 2015.

  13. Rapa_Nui

Since analytics and data became widely accessible to the big public, Sports media have nothing to talk about.

It’s sad but you can find a better analysis on Reddit or youtube than ESPN. Their only way to remain relevant is clickbait and pushing narratives.

It’s a little different with the NFL but realistically, you never hear good NBA takes on TV outside of few ones.

  14. yitur93

Why are we even talking about espn talking heads. Even jj redick admits that they are giving a topic and they have to act black and white.

  15. adocileengineer

Who out of MJ, LeBron, Kareem, Magic, Kobe, Duncan, Bird, Russell, Wilt, Shaq (my personal top 10), not to mention Oscar Robertson and Olajuwon, has Steph passed? Steph isn’t even close to LeBron, who is consensus top 2 player of all time, is not even close to top 5, and is barely in the conversation for top 10. Don’t get me wrong he’s an all time great and the greatest shooter ever, and he’s IMO the best player in this series, but come on now.

Recency bias is a hell of a drug.

  16. tokyoblood

Four clowns. No one should pay any attention to that garbage.

  17. staffdaddy_9

Steph maybe surpassed 37 year old Lebron last year. Lebron was better the entirety of stephs career to that point. This isn’t even remotely a question.

  18. Oni-Chan-Sama

This man has been getting disrespected ever since his rookie year. Insane

  19. throwaway242396

Stephen A Smith is a prisoner of the moment

  20. benjamichel

lol one finals mvp to lebrons four (with 3 different franchises) . Steph ain’t even in the fucking conversation about the conversation

  21. Scaindawgs_

ESPN needs to sack these guys. Absolute hacks

  22. bankster24

He’s not better than Kobe, Lebron, or Magic no matter what teenagers or the media think

  23. politisaurus_rex

For Steph to surpass Lebron he would need to lead a team of average players to a title (multiple times)

Look Steph is the greatest shooter ever. But overall all of his team accomplishments need to be examined through the lense of who was there helping him.

KD was the best player on the team for two of his title runs. And even the other two without KD he still had multiple HOFers (in their prime) starting with him.

If prime Lebron played on the warriors with the help steph had he would have literally won the title every year

  24. Abyssrealm

Stephen A has had more bad takes than AD has had rebounds.

I get it’s for the ratings, the difference between his takes and actual former NBA commentators is night and day

  25. vinylmartyr

These sports show are unwatchable. Its all hot takes.

  26. LeGJOaT69966996

Him being top 10 is debatable now hes on his way to be the 1B player to ever play

  27. Browskies

They know that headline is unfathomable. But it gets the people talking (watching)

  28. SnoobNoob7860

the curry agenda is crazy, dude is T15

lebron is a goat with MJ and Kareem, fucking joke man

  29. craigp5986

I miss the old ESPN when it wasn’t a hot take clown show

  30. Burning_Abyss_

Put lebron on those warriors teams i guarantee they win 7 straight finals. Put steph on those cavs teams and they dont win shit. Media needs to stop thus BS

  31. TheManTheyCallHungo

Can we just take time to appreciate these two players instead of constantly comparing them? This is exhausting. Lebron has like two years maybe left, unless he wins and retires. Steph has like 4-5 maybe. They ain’t gonna be around for much longer.

  32. Persianmemefinder

I hate these clowns man. Who even still watches these bozos?

  33. GerrardsRightFoot

ESPN needs to say controversial and stupid shit to boost their ratings, else why would they have Stephen A. That guy is entertaining but it’s just knee jerk reactionary clown show almost all the time

  34. sadduckfan

13x All NBA 1st team vs 4. End of Discussion. Same goes for Kobe vs Steph.

  35. XxNoKnifexX

There is nothing he can do to ever catch LeBron for anyone who understands basketball, INCLUDING all these talking heads when they aren’t engaging in bad faith arguments for clicks. It’s not even remotely close.

  36. LoudRise858

You made the first mistake of watching and taking anything ESPN talks about seriously

  37. kodominator

All I see from Stephen A. Smith is that wack hairline lookin like a backcourt violation lmao

  38. kingtrab7

Warriors fan coming here to say this is stupid. Can we just enjoy basketball between the two GOATs of this generation.

  39. Background_Nature_32

Curry and KD the media darlings who are elevated nonstop and all their shortcomings easily forgotten

  40. wazza116

2 KD rings and beating him without Love or Kyrie. What a joke.

  41. Ill_Celery_7654

One of the main reasons why I don’t watch ESPN outside of a game being broadcasted on there and I don’t even pay attention to any of their pre-game or post game coverage or anything. They never had these debates about Jordan and Kobe or anybody else so why continuously have them about Lebron

  42. SellingPapierMache

Curry is not “better” but he is revolutionary and single-handedly changed the game more than any player, ever. That doesn’t make him better, though, of course.

  43. East-Bluejay6891

Stupid fucking question and so disrespectful

  44. wooktar

I mean hey theyre asking what more he needs to do.. it’s a fair question.

    4 more Finals MVPs
    At least 2 more MVPs
    10 more All-star appearances
    Like 20k more career points.

Listen if Steph can keep up his current level of play for the next 10 years he might do it.

  45. rabbibert

Pass Kobe, Kareem Magic, Shaq first, then we can start talking about Lebron.
