One of the worst trades of all time
Aren’t we all
they thought its gonna be like boogie and a.d 😂
First
First!
JJ, this may be a bit random, but do you know anyone who works for NBA 2k? They still don’t have the 08-09 Orlando Magic as one of the classic teams and I thought it’d be cool if you could talk to them about adding that team if you knew anyone from 2K
Utah fans will have an annual parade everytime that day of the trade comes along😂
I just don’t get why he was worth that much to them

It could possibly go down as one of if not the worst trade in major American pro sports. I really struggle to think of anything that comes close
It sometimes take 2-3 years to know if a trade works. Also, they shouldve traded KAT yrs ago and kept Jimmy B and brought in a sniper named JJ Reddick and gave JJ 32-34 mins a game.
Anyway, KAT needs to stop shooting 3's and him and Rudy need to stay in the post.
They also need a coach like Mark Jackson, Mike Budenholzer, or Jed Buchler
The biggest problem was KAT. This was supposed to be his team but he always shrinks on the biggest stage and NEVER plays any defense
Something ppl forget tho is the Gobert trade is partially on KAT. He didn't want to play center so the Wolves had to go and find someone skilled and plays center, which should help retain KAT
fire the coach, fire the gm
Made no sense but since money really isn’t the issue for stars in the nba if you’re not a big market team your only options to really snag stars is get lucky in the draft or make a big trade (Kawhi to raptors). It was a swing and a miss but still a swing.
I thought the Russ trade to the Lakers was bad but this was incredibly worse for Minnesota Lol.
who idea was it to give up perimeter defenders for a paint defender in a league where the 3 will destroy you 😐
That trade set the wolves back 20 years
You maybe can like the idea of the trade, but you sure can't like the price.
It'd be one thing if they signed him outright, but to give up all those assets for an awkward fit makes no sense.
Gotta swing big if you wanna win a chip. Didn’t work out but you gotta try something – honest wolves fan
As a wolves fan, the biggest dissapointment of this year has been KAT. ANT and Jaiden are the future
I'm just a dude that likes watching hoops and I knew that was one of the stupidest trades you could ever make in the history of sports. Maybe I can run a team!
This isn’t hindsight but my sources from literally everyone in America outside of the Timberwolves organization was “wtf”
What about the sabonis trade you bum? Malpractice. Lol JJ you’re like the rest of the media and you act like your not
at this point they should trade KAT honestly, that rudy gobert experiment mainly because T-Wolves want KAT to focus more on his offensive game specially outside shooting because he soft in the pain area, but reallity is they fail. KAT numbers are decrease, his shooting are garbage and he soft in pain so what he used to you at this point. better ship him to somwhere else while he has value to get cashback from that gobert trade and let ANT run the show, he seems more want it than KAT do.
It seems like they want to trade KAT he’s. Worth more when trading for another Star u got a lot for Rudy but no stars KAT can get you more top talent 🤔💯
As a Jazz fan, I have never loved a trade more!
Would have been the worst trade if the wolves were a lottery team this year. Instead they make back to back playoffs for first time since the KG era. They need to run it back and build more depth.

Whoever signed off on that trade for the wolves needs to be fired. This ain’t 2003 😂
I think that Tim had the idea to make something like the bubble lakers with a defensive 5 and Towns would act as a poor man's AD. Since Tim saw it first row when those lakers won vs denver in wcf that year
There was a whole stream of media people saying how this was the perfect genius fit… meanwhile every normal person could see it was a train wreck from a mile away
The Kessler / Vando comment at the end is spot-on. They literally gave away the two guys that they needed to get Gobert who they don't need. Gobert was a great defender but you just had his best year remaining on his deal.
They tried to copy the Bubble Lakers with Dwight and and AD
“75 first round picks or whatever it was” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The problem is they chose the wrong player to build around. Gobert shrinks the floor for Ant. He would be better served with shooters. The trade was terrible, they could have kept Kessler who was better than Gobert this year and use the same pieces to trade for a different player.
They watched the Jazz struggle with in the postseason with Rudy and still traded for him like he’s prime Kevin Durant 😂
They also didn’t learn from the Jimmy situation and decide maybe it’s time to trade KAT.
Gobert wouldnt last in the 90s
I'm baffled that people celebrated the Wolves adding another big to a line-up that has a big. Meanwhile, folks criticized Sacramento for switching out one of their potential superstar guards for a big who fits their roster well.
No one I've met can tell the future. Neither can I. But yo, common sense says this year turned out kinda how it should given the roster construction.
mfers really think they can field a 2K roster and it'll do great IRL
Worst trade in NBA history by a mile.
I didn't like the Gobert trade, I thought it immediately made them worse – it did…. but, actually if it leads to now trading Karl Anthony Towns it may come ~good. KAT is a dumb basketball player. His rim protection is poor for a big and he wants to be a "4" because he wants to shoot outside and doesn't like banging inside. Well, I'm sorry – your shooting against FAR superior shooters and shot makers if that's what you make yourself and now you're slower than your competition, you give away your height advantage on the boards and the fact you don't understand that is embarrassing. The T Wolves would do very well to find a team daft enough to believe he's a piece to build around. Find players that want to build Edwards up, not hold him down.
The only problem with the trade was what they gave up. The idea was fine. The execution was idiotic.
Kessler much better fit than Gobert! Gobert is not even on Ants timeline… so you downgraded at center position, gave away a solid player in Vanderbilt, other role players and 5 first rounders. This coming 2023 pick is a mid round first for the Jazz. Easily can get a future gem that the Wolves won’t have and the future ones from the other picks. Worst trade ever.
Sadly they can’t trade Rudy. It’s time to trade KAT while he still has high value and built around Ant
Kats way to zesty and don't take nothing serious ..
