I actually have no problem with him letting them play but the moment he sees them wasting time and nothing happening, he should’ve called the TO. Right at that 10 second mark is where the TO should’ve been took. If the game was tied, that’s one thing but down one to win the game, that’s inexcusable to just let them delve into chaos

I feel like NBA coaches would benefit from playing 2K for last minute, close game situations. Allowing the offense to take a 2 over a 3 when you’re up by 2 points is one of the basic things you learn from 2K

Tatum has to have a higher basketball IQ than that. Coach trusted him and got burned. Tough lesson to learn but time to stop viewing Tatum as a player coach on the court.

0 NBA coaches would have let that game end without calling a timeout. Give the guys a breath, put Brogdon back in and for God sake draw something, anything up. Terrible coaching along with some terrible decisions by the players (double Embiid and leave harden open for three?) equals a tough loss to swallow.

Coach Joe thinks he’s smarter than every coach ever. That level of arrogance in a rookie coach is a huge red flag. It’s not working Joe. That hasn’t worked all year.
I think they should have called a TO. The only excuse not to is to exploit a offensive matchup advantage. The biggest matchup advantage is Harden but it was obvious they weren’t getting that early so just call a TO and if they sub him out it is what it is. You would end up with the same situation we just had except with the possibility of not getting Tatum stuck in a quadruple team.

Honestly that reminded me of Grayson Allen shooting with no time left for the Bucks, which was followed by the firing of a well respected and successful coach.
1000%. His situational awareness as a coach is horrendous.
The Celtics would have won if Smart had gotten the OT shot off .1 or .2 seconds earlier. The play worked as intended except that Tatum was a fraction of a second too slow. You guys have worms in your brains. Thank God you all and Keith Smith have no decision-making role in the organization; it would be worse off with your input.
