If they are trying to distance themselves from NN they won’t go with AG. They spent 5 years coaching/completing their doctorate together. From a HC standpoint (fair or not) he’ll be viewed as an extension of Nurse. Could see them keeping him on as an assistant to help with the transition
I don't think they will go in house considering the tension being reported among the assistant coaches. Yes, it was likely between Earl Watson and Nurse but Griffin was apart of a divided coaching staff
As a Raptors fan, I can tell you the front office is extremely serious about winning another chip. I don’t believe we’d be focused on short-term solutions like Josh Richardson and Bruce Brown. We’re at this place where the foundation of the team is cracking. They have the impossible task of not only filling the holes, but making the foundation stronger than ever. That’s the expectation the fans have and that’s the expectation the front office folks have for this team. We don’t have a ton of assets to play around with, so we have to go for something more risky and long-term. Players we can build upon, improve, and who ultimately, become worth more than we put in. For example, the rumored OG Anunoby for Anfernee Simons trade. Right now, we need to invest in talent, so it can pay off in the long run.
