Ben Simmons playing for Team Australia would be a major win for the Brooklyn Nets



The word came out over the weekend that Ben Simmons was eying a return to playing with Team Australia for the FIBA World Cup this summer. This hasn’t been something he’s done in many years, but it appears there’s a path to it happening this time around. The Locked on Nets guys discuss how this seemingly small move for Simmons could be a really big step in the right direction for a guy who’s struggled in his time recovering from injury and staying on the court.

    What did I say before this is Ben Simmons at his finest. Every off season he does this in some capacity. IG posts of him dunking and playing in rec leagues and shooting threes. This is just a version of that. Until, he gets back on an NBA floor and shows that he has conquered his basketball yips nobody should be impressed. I am not going to focus on the easy story which is his back because with medical tech I’m am assuming he can get close to back to where he was physically at some point. That still doesn’t resolve the primary issues with his game.

    Idk in my opinion who cares? We’re not competing for a championship anymore so let’s just wait on Ben Simmons and see if he can be the player he used to be or hell maybe even better.

    Unless we shoot for a Dame or SGA type of player it really doesn’t matter.

    Let’s give him another season and see if he’s really physically banged up and now ready to go or it was all bs because if it was bs and he comes back the same as last season he’s screwed in this league.

    Lots of speculation in this episode. I still haven’t seen him dribbling a basketball. I guess we’ll have a better idea where things are headed with him come August.

    let me just say we are all feeding into Ben’s need to be in the storyline. Notice how his teammates ignore him and we should do the same. In the clinical world we call it classic attention seeking behavior. When the heat is on he is nowhere to be found besides on the sideline hoping someone comments on another one of his gross looking 1000 dollar sweatshirts. Doug needs to stop with the forget about how much money point he continually makes it’s just not reality. How much money you make is completely attached to the expectations and responsibilities you have toward your job. If Ben Simmons made the vet min. He would be cut. Ben Simmons not being a star but making star money is crippling and the only thing nets fans have to accept is that Marks got good winked by the sixers. Until Ben Simmons overcomes his NBA Yips he is not worth getting excited about. This is a dude who has not added anything more to his game since high school.
