[Mat Ishbia] Great win for the Suns last night in an amazing series so far! That should be and is the only story. Suspending or fining anyone over last nights incident would not be right. I have alot of respect for Jokic and don’t want to see anything like that. Excited for game 5! Go Suns!

Good on the Suns owner for dispelling the theories that thr Suns might want the NBA to suspend Jokic. Seems like Ishbia wants to move past this as much as everyone else. He seems like a good team owner, definitely better than Sarver (low bar, I know)

Glad he said that tbh. And he’s right, it’s a shame that people are so focused on that instead of the game itself, cause it was a fucking incredible basketball game

  2. Scottsm124

Can’t believe he’s strong enough to tweet after that assault. God bless him for being the bigger person

  3. slamdunk23

No way the NBA would suspend a star for that.

Fine both of them and move on

  4. Spectro-X

Makes sense Ishbia wants to put it behind them. Any punishment for Jokic would just cast more of a spotlight on himself.

  5. mrwhite2323

I say suspend Jokic and the entire Suns team except Booker

    Booker vs Denver

  6. crimsonconnect

Jokics brothers made him send that lol

  7. Blatt_called_timeout

Wow most of his replies are people actually calling for Jokic to get suspended

  8. Westcoastchi

Good response. Now the question becomes when will Landry Curry make his next appearance?

  9. WhileFalseRepeat

Perusing this subreddit after the game it feels as though most everyone is looking to blame only one person or the other – personally I think both Ishbia and Jokic are in the wrong. They both did things which shouldn’t happen in a game.

Not sure a suspension or only a fine is the correct response, but whatever one gets I feel the other should get too.

And get ready for a discussion on owner privilege, superstar status, and the race card to be played if there is no suspension. I’m not suggesting that I subscribe to any of that, but there is an argument to be made that the outcome for this might be different in other circumstances and with other people involved.

Good on him to post this. Though I don’t think the NBA will factor this in at all on whether punishment is given out.

  11. Meret123

So he got info that Jokic is definitely getting suspended.

[Mat Ishbia] Great win for the Suns last night in an amazing series so far! I’ll step up to any star that comes at me. I am going to start grabbing and chucking live balls into the stands come at me.

Man even billionaires are out here writing “alot” as if it’s a word

  14. qwer1234abcd

He doesn’t want to get fined either.

  15. GooSavior

I was just seeing that the top 6 posts as I write this are about jokic ightly pushing this dude lol, we got generational talent battling it out rn and this sub continues to be a drama sub. This was such a non issue to me lol

  16. ehdotgee

Only thing that I have over a billionaire is knowing that ‘a lot’ is two words

  17. Working_Friend_6946

I actually feel that he fell genuinely. Imagine jokic pushes you. He was standing right in front of hai seat. His legs couldn’t move back. Good on him to clear the air

  18. FrnklndaTurtle

The only thing this should all remind us is how fucked up the NBA was for the 2007 suspensions.

  19. Dirty_Virmling

Well, his defense of Jokic notably comes couched in a defense of himself too lol. He didn’t say Jokic shouldn’t be suspended, he said the league shouldn’t suspend *anyone*. Normally, if a fan did what he did, they’d be banned from the arena.

    [NBA Rules](https://official.nba.com/comments-on-the-rules/#spectators):
“Any coach, player, trainer, or other team bench person who deliberately enters the spectator stands during the game will be automatically ejected and the incident reported by e-mail to Basketball Operations. Entering the stands to keep a ball in play by a player or the momentum which carries the player into the stands is not considered deliberate. The first row of seats is considered the beginning of the stands.”

  21. jeRskier

It would be so weak to suspend the guy that just dropped 53 points in a 2-2 series over what I think every party would agree was an absolutely hilarious interaction.

If the rules say Jokic must be penalized, fine him and move on. Game 5 is going to be epic.

  22. jamaica1

Wow they went from Sarver to this?? Good for Suns fans as much as I hate them they don’t deserve Sarver lol

  23. crunk_alligator84

He didn’t even apologize for his actions, showed no remorse.

  24. -motts-

aka: “dont look into this more cause imma be the one getting fined”

  25. phenomenal_anonymity

Of course dude wants no consequences because he instigated the incident
