Unironically, yeah kind of. GS is full of finesse, skill guards that run forever. It’s fuckin hard to out-skill them but you can out-athlete them. Troy works hard, but he doesn’t have the athletic pop and Beasley isn’t providing much if he can’t hit shots. 3 dudes basically the same size, Lonnie actually is the best option and a frustrating one for them.

Athletic enough to defend them, a pretty good shooter they have to respect, and just for fun he can go over the top on occasion to put pressure on a less athletic defender.

They unleashed some fresh legs that’s for sure

Cautiously optimistic, hopefully he can keep it up on defense. Played well on D last game but Lonnie was one of, if not the, worst defender on the roster for most of the season. He’ll be more than fine offensively, not worried about him on that end

Playing the 3rd best point of attack defender on the team who’s quick enough to pursue Steph and Klay around screens, is a rocket in transition, and often led the team in scoring early in the season? No. Will be a non-factor.

i didn’t watch last game. was he effect on both offense and def?

His three level scoring will help in that second quarter if there’s any stagnancy on that end

Huge respect for Lonnie, and ham for trusting him! He didn’t come into the game chucking to try to stay on the floor, he made smart plays and deserved his minutes.

I thought you were going to talk about Shaq, the splash brothers stopper 🙂

I’m glad Lonnie is getting minutes again. Those fresh legs were a big need.

They won’t be able to figure him out.

idk if this is crazy but i believe if we advance to the next round we should give another chance to TBJ and Malik to prove their worth, at least in a few quarters, we can see them working on their shot and im curious if they can get it going again, cuz if they can we become even more dangerous offensively.

Lonnie got a lot of shit early on this year for defense but he did a good job guarding both Curry and Klay at points. His scoring has also already been way better than both Beasley and Troy combined.

If Lonnie can give us 12 consistent minutes on both ends it will go a long way towards making me believe we are the deepest team in the league

This post trade deadline Lakers team is DEEP! This is a problem when the opponent doesn’t exactly know who’s next off the bench.

Maybe Beasley gets his shot falling again and get some burn, now that’s another weapon opponents need to worry about.

It’s really, “who’s hot”, then ride the hot hand.

It’s a lot better than opponents knowing AD and LBJ both need to get 30 for the lakers to have a chance. A lot of guys can give you 30 on this team. DEEP!

Need to resign Lonnie and opt out of beasley’s team option

We beat them several times without Lonnie, we got in him a deadly combo of talent, rest, and a ravenous hunger to achieve. I’m confident, we got this shit locked up

  17. He doesn’t have to do anything extraordinary to have a good shift. Just keep that consistent pressure chasing Steph and Klay around the court while Austin & DLo are out long enough for them to get a breather. I love that they went to him last game.

Sorta. Lonnie is rested and has the athleticism to keep up with them on D and force them to keep up with him on offense. And I think one of the things I love about him the most is that he makes his open 3s. Eating Beasley’s lunch this series tbh

I look at Lonnie as a more seasoned THT – has some deficiencies, but can light it up on offense at times, and is a good finisher. Love seeing him add some scoring off the bench.
