Bates would be nice, Luka not winning 🏆 he plays ZERO DEFENSE!
I’m about 50/50 Luka leaving. On one hand, I honestly can’t see him leaving, especially if we can build a competitive team around him. He strikes me as a loyal guy who wants to win here. But I also know he wants to win period. It’s not all on the Mavs though. Luka needs a serious attitude adjustment, he’s not above criticism and ppl tend to walk on eggshells bc they don’t want to say anything negative about him. He has his faults too and we can argue his constant bitching, not getting back on defense, and poor leadership cost us games as well.
Emoni Bates Scouting report doesn't strike me as the player Mavs need. His defense and defensive effort is like Luka – slow, low effort, bad rotations, bad defensive discipline, and its probably bc he was the Luka on his team… he had to carry the offensive and rest on defense, but at least Luka got 8+ rebounds a game. He's unathletic, doesn't defend and doesn't rebound.
He does however look like a great shooter off the catch and off the dribble. Too me, his upside is Brandon Ingram with a better looking jumpshot and I think he can at least be a 3pt specialist at the next level..
If we can't get Jarace Walker or Taylor Hendricks, then we should trade down to get Derek Lively or Adem Bona
Mavericks should do like a 5 team trade with the Warriors, Wizards, Hornets, and Pelicans if they want solid role players around Luka and Kyrie.
