  1. If I’m Joe Mazulla the very moment I see JT isn’t going to be able to get in the paint on that last play in overtime with like 4-5 seconds left I’d be calling timeout.

  2. Mazzula is not a good coach. This team is underperforming and the crunch time confusion is a reflection of coaching. Contrast with Brads ATO calls when they played Philly in 20.

  3. Lol not surprised at all by Philly fans wanting Harden gone after one game. This sport has to be by far the worst for fans jumping on and off player bandwagons from one day to the next, it's weird.

  4. What a failure coaching wise from Mazulla. Having not one, but two timeouts at the end of overtime and not using them was the biggest mistake. Celtics could’ve saved precious time by taking a timeout and advancing the ball up court. Even if there was an issue inbounding the ball they could’ve even called another time out there.

  5. Can anyone remember a game-winner that Tatum hit at the buzzer in his entire career? I'm struggling to remember any.

  6. He got the better of JB come on JJ .
JB was clearly not guarding Harden for long stretches of the game.Come on man call if for what it is.

  7. Many may have opinion on Taking the time or not taking the timeout, but I think in end taking a timeout makes more sense, you get to take a deep breath and think over want that final play could possibly look like and atleast give yourself option with the imput of the coach.
Clearly Mazulla keeps disregarding this and Game 5 has to be seen as a Game 7 for Celtics, versus going back to Philly down 3-2 and playing and elimination game

  8. What were they doing? Saving the TO for next game? Poor coaching is the problem…use the damn timeout to advance the ball to half court and run a play…..He had a case of doc rivers syndrome… This is Ume Idoka team, dude is a poor coach

  9. I'll tell you why, as a Celtics fan that doesn't drink the kool-aid. It's because the organization, for some ungodly reason, caters to Marcus Smart as if he is Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant or LeBron James when Smart at his absolute best isn't even half of those players at their absolute worst. Teams know that you double up on Tatum or Brown and cover everyone but Smart, who was FOURTEENTH in shooting percentage during the regular season, because teams know the Celtics will defer to their open guy and most guys that are that open guy understand they are not good shooters but Marcus Smart fancies himself Durant or Dirk.

What's more infuriating is Smart taking BOTH final shots in the 4th and then OT and Tatum deferring and running the clock out and then Jaylen Brown (who is better than Tatum, by the way) isn't even considered by the punching bag of a head coach we have because he's Smart's little brother. Marcus Smart, a role player at best, subs himself in during playoff games. That's dysfunctional, I don't care how big of a Celtics fan you are, you're a liar if you say it isn't.

  10. Let Brogdon run the offense, sit Smart for White, simple. Smart is 12th on this team in defensive rating this series, yet some people keep pretending he's still a defensive savant. He's also 11th on the team in offensive rating. Celtics will never win a title with Smart running the show.

  11. Smart thinks he's part of a big three, he's shooting more shots than Brown which is criminal. If they lose this series, Mazzulla has to go, he continues to do boneheaded things in crunch time

  12. That ball is never getting inbounded without first calling a timeout with Spoelstra on the sideline or Lowry on the floor. And that’s the difference, smart leadership. Heat in 5

  13. Not surprising, if you're not receiving coaching or timeouts in clutch situations the game will get frantic and you'll make wrong decisions

  14. They take way too long to get into their offense when there is no shot clock during crunch time.

  15. My thoughts are Boston needs to run actions that emphasize Tatum and get brown open on the backend… To end regulation and overtime they ran a play for tatum who kicked it to smart

  16. Horford and brogdon should never switch on Harden …. brown , Tatum or grant Williams should fight those screens or Celtics should play a zone even though I’m with the 76ers Celtics coach mazulla has got to make adjustments during the game not after

  17. I love how jj brings up how not calling a timeout is okay. Everyone was using that one argument for calling coach bud bad and a good reason to fie him.

  18. After giving the pick JT could have given it to White.. If the C's have 3 good PGs then why do you think they let JT play Point Forward? Why dont they just put him amd JB in their spots so he could score and let them PGs do the setting up and manage the clock?🤔

  19. Simple Answer: Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown are scared to take control of game-winning playoff possessions.

It happened in the 2022 Bucks series.
It happened in the 2022 Warriors series.
And it's already happened twice in the 2023 Sixers series.

They're a formidable duo, but close playoff games are not their thing.

  20. I feel like Tatum and smart should get traded and built a team around jalen brown this is sad y down by 16 you come back than force to go OT and not finished it is very sad

  21. I think that in a tied game with the cushion of OT, you increase the odds of scoring if the defense is not set, hence not calling a timeout was the right call.

But down 1, with still good clock remaining, Celts should’ve called a timeout to draw up a play, have a good look and shoot a bit early. If they make it, then good but If they miss, they can still do the free throw game

  22. They fold in crunch time, because they don't give JB the ball. Tatum is not good as the ball-handler in crunch time. He should be coming of picks, mis-direction, something. The elephant in the room that the Celtics are NOT willing to admit is that JB is the leader.

  23. Celtics would have already won if they would trade Smart. He's the master flopper never going to win chip

  24. Joe Mazzulla's poor game management is holding this team back. There is no reason why, with 18s left, down 1, you don't play 2 for 1 possessions. The second round of the playoffs is not the time to learn this. The outcome could be the same, but you must be aware of this as the coach and afford your team more opportunities to win the game. His poor management has been concerning all season, in the post-season its been glaring. Also, fwiw, I don't trust his ATO sets, maybe Joe doesn't as well.

  25. That's the wrong question. Why do teams struggle in late game situations? I don't just watch my Celtics, I watch other teams, and they struggle too. Why? This is a really silly question. It's called pressure, which only gets worse in the playoffs. Shaq talked about it, "Especially at the end of the 4th quarter. You really start to tighten up."

  26. Nobody would be talking about the timeout if Jaylen Brown didn’t double embid an leave harden open .. embid would’ve tied it an Boston would’ve won or went to another over time .. time outs wouldn’t even be brought up
