I am curious why he was in Pop’s doghouse during his stint with the Spurs.

Man stays ready. Hope he inspires some kids who are in a similar situation.

I teared up seeing this fr. Lonnie is a firm believer in Christ but you could see the spiritual battle he was going thru since falling down in the depth chart. This was a testament to continue having faith and God will make a way. Best moment of our szn so far hands down
Edit: Appreciate the gold even though I don’t feel it’s really deserved at all. Praise God and pray y’all have a blessed day. Lakers in 5

Just read some of his backstory. No kid deserves what happened to him. He absolutely deserves to have a win and moment like this. Really happy for him!

Lonnie Walker IV… I feel like he should be Lonnie Walker I, II, and III as well. He’s earned play time in all four quarters.

What a great moment for Lonnie. Use him! Troy Brown was not playing good D or scoring. Lonnie is a scoring threat and is chasing down shooters. His effort is off the charts!!!!

The way everybody on the team has been stepping up and contributing something to help get these Ws has been an amazing experience to watch

His success story is one of perseverance and hard work despite a difficult childhood marked by his parents’ struggles with addiction. Despite facing yet another obstacle this season, with limited playing time on the court, Lonnie Walker has remained undeterred in his pursuit of success, improving his defense and composure. Such a great inspiration.

LW always has a stoic look on his face so it’s hard to tell what his emotions are when he’s on the bench. It’s also real easy for players to get down on themselves, the coaches, the organization, and teammates when they’re not getting meaningful minutes, he clearly hasn’t done that. I personally have been screaming through my TV for Lonnie to get some real time, especially on those nights that D-Lo hasn’t been performing, because I think he can be a legit neutralizer for other teams’ 3-point shooters. He is so pure when he’s getting clean looks, and when you have LeBron and AD on the court with you, you’re going to get some good looks at the basket. I’m so happy that he got some meaningful playing time and showed the basketball watching world that he’s not just a stoic face at the end of the bench worthy of mop up duties. The dude can play.

In the 4th quarter, he went by his government name. Sir Alonzo Bean Walker IV The Third.

In a sporting world where most player complain about not getting minutes. It was so professional of Lonnie Walker IV to just stay quiet but ready when his number is called. I would say that is what he learned from playing with Coach Pop as well as with the influence of Darvin Ham, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis. Lonnie deserves his flowers and his damn respect.

He saved us last nite, not too many players in his position would have been able to swallow going from a starter to bench player to DNP nightly to being clutch in a must win game in the big stage,
nobody rises to their potential. you fall to your preparation.

This post Le-Era squad looks so good. Hope he stays with us.

Ham should get some of the credit for Walker’s performance. He moved Walker into the rotation ahead of Brown and Beasley in Game 3, and he responded with 12 points. That gave Ham the confidence to go to him again in Game 4, and Walker the confidence to take over in the fourth quarter. Ham also ran a play for him off a screen coming out of a timeout.

I can’t stand AD as a Pelicans fan, but this is the leadership I have always wanted to see from AD. The love him and Bron showed for Lonnie is what leadership is all about.
