    >One NBA general manager told Steve Bulpett of Heavy that team president Masai Ujiri is “frustrated” with the organization and could wind up being pursued by the Washington Wizards.

    >”Masai is really, really frustrated,” the GM said. “He’s frustrated with [Fred] VanVleet also, because he hasn’t shown him any indication that he wants to stay. So I think he’s really down about that situation. Maybe it’s because everything’s still so fresh, but there’s a lot they have to get done there. It didn’t surprise anyone that Nick moved on.

    >”I don’t know what they’re going to do, but I’ve been hearing that Washington is coming after Masai again.”

Lmao what shit speculation. Ujuri’s feelings are hurt by FVV? Foh

  3. TheseBitchesLoveSoba

    Not this again lol.

I think the only way Masai is frustrated is if he’s trying to rebuild but ownership wants revenue. Otherwise he’s the president, this was what he wanted the entire time. I think he’s fine here

This off-season is going to be interesting

  5. MaestusDr

Who is he frustrated with? He’s the one that fucked up at the deadline lmao

  6. Iliketothrowaway2456

This is why you should’ve traded his ass at the deadline… his own frustrations are his own fault.. like unless he wants to rebuild and Rogers is saying no as someone said earlier, then I don’t even know what to say 🤦🏽‍♂️

so many people here taking the bait 🎣

I mean Masai built the roster, so if anything he’s gotta blame himself. Also with Fred; he’s chasing the bag, and I highly Doubt Masai would want to run this Same Roster back again; going into the tax for another play in exit would be… unfortunate. Why would Fred want to stay as well? Clearly they are going to be retooling and possibly doing a full rebuild, Fred can compete on a team with deep playoff runs.

Also; swear I have been hearing the same Wizards rumour for a thousand years. Please… just stop already Bleacher you’re killing me.

  9. Frustrated? With what? His shitty job performance since getting lucky with Kawhi. Please don’t let the door hit you on the way out. Maybe now we’ll stop drafting “giants of Africa” 6’7 projects.

  10. lmfao huh? its his team… he built it… who makes up these fake headlines lmfao???

  11. Punjabiveer30

Didn’t Masai really just say, unless you guys kick me out I’m staying here, lmao BR just be recycling rumours from 3 years ago

  12. LostPants7

if there is any truth to this the only thing that makes sense is that Masai wants to sell everyone and do a full tank and FO said no. Which is why now he always mentions retooling

    > It didn’t surprise anyone that Nick moved on.

he didn’t leave, he was fired. and that’s all you need to know about the credibility of this writer.

  14. I mean, if Masai is frustrated with Fred, that problem can be easily fixed in the summer.

This doesn’t pass the smell test.

  15. Raptorsthrowaway1

Ah yes. We have reached the Masai linked to the Wizards phase of the off season

  16. whenspayday

What if the anonymous NBA GM in the article is Bobby? LOL.

  17. myrapties

Fire Masai and Bobby and let them go to the Wizards or elsewhere. It’s been 4 seasons of directionless basketball that’s leading to a rebuild at the next trade deadline.

I don’t trust those two to rebuild this roster properly because they will feel pressure to put out a high performing team as quickly as possible instead of building a strong foundation through the draft, which could take 3-4 seasons. Had he rebuilt after the championship we could have had a exciting young core with a trove of draft picks by now.

The general response to this has been to shrug it off but everybody also shrugged off the Nick Nurse speculation when it first bubbled up during the season. Before you claim that’s not true, check the first threads about it.

I’m not saying there’s any legitimacy to it, but I’m certainly not going to ignore this.

  19. I’d be frustrated if I was Masai right now too… Doesn’t seem like the type to throw in the towel because he’s frustrated though. Seems like a made up nothing burger.

  20. Reporter is an older national guy from Boston. If Windy or Z-Lowe were saying this it’s one thing but this guy “reports” more rumours from “nba gm/exec” than I have time for.

“Ujiri also confirms that, yes, he is legally a Canadian citizen and holds a Canadian passport. (There was a bit ambiguity about his remarks on citizenship when in Addis Ababa earlier.)”

Yes other places would love Masai, yes this situation is frustrating and needs to be sorted out. No Masai is not leaving in the middle of an off season where he gets to completely transform the team. He loves this job and the freedom it gives him to run his other projects and having an ally in Larry Tanenbaum and MLSE. He even became a Canadian Citizen and has 2 Canadian kids.

I dislike that almost no one uses Masai’s real title of President and Vice Chairman of the Board.

That second part is unique and special. It caries weight and meaning and money.

  21. TheOneandOnly1994

Its been like 5 years since this rumor started. Masai even re-signed with the Raptors. Give it a rest lol

  22. Itchy_Quit_8755

This is a recycled story from 3 years ago

  23. KingOfWeTheNorth

Lol Washington tried this after our Championship too
