He doesn't help you when it matters. #2 pick is way more valuable than Randal, especially when you consider that you getting a player on a rookie contract that fits your timeline way better, and still has a potential to become a much better player. This would be a Van Gundy move. Pistons are not going to be good for at least another year, but that doesn't mean you make a move just to set yourself up for mediocrity. I could see that.
