[Breer] If the Celtics look like this again on Thursday night, they almost have to make a coaching change. Stakes are too high with this group.

Should’ve never fired Ime, idgaf what he did

  2. Buggplut

They need to make a change regardless. You could argue joe lost them multiple games in this series alone.

It’s sadly a catch 22. I don’t know if it’ll be a good look to fire a coach right after an extension. It may create turmoil among the players. Huge mistake extending him

  4. blumpkinmania

He’s probably right but Bert is still a jackass

Mazzulla can’t make proper adjustments. You can’t win 7-games series if you refuse to adjust to your opponent. He needs to go somewhere else ASAP

Hire an actual, qualified NBA coach. Not sure why that is so hard for the Celtics.

Should’ve never fired Ime imo NBA would’ve taken action if what he did was that bad

1000000% agree. Don’t waste another year on this clown who can’t get them to even try, let alone play some form of defense

I hope whoever’s wife Ime fucked is getting fucked by 3 different guys right now.

At a minimum regardless of the outcome of this series a significant coaching addition must be made. Joe’s inexperience and the team’s lack of consistency have proven far too detrimental already.

Him and Jim Montgomery will have time to commiserate soon. Two guys that got out coached with a great roster.

Id take Nurse. Dude is a chode and a half sometimes but dude can COACH.

I wish we had a guy like Erik Spoelstra on the sidelines but he ain’t leaving that sweet Miami gig so Nurse would be a great consolation prize.

If we go through 3 coaches in the span of 4 years that’s a terrible look for the organization. They’re gonna stick with Joe for a little bit longer cause they’re gonna want to at least see him grow a bit.

  14. shortpersonohara

at the bare minimum should’ve add veteran support to his assistants. that group just got gutted and we never brought anyone in. at least it looks like we’ll get silas next year cause boy do we need something

idk why i’m posting this since it’s almost certain no one will read it, but the coaching change that needs to happen is HIRING AN ACTUAL COACHING STAFF AROUND JOE. joe is not the problem – ime, will hardy and damon stoudemire leaving within 6 months of each other is. that’s a staggering amount of brain drain with zero replacements. joe isn’t perfect, but he has no fucking support system, and that’s what you’re seeing more than anything right now. it’s so incredibly frustrating to watch people trash a guy who’s doing his best for issues that are clearly not his fucking fault

Is we get eliminated this round I don’t even want Joe giving an interview after the game. Make him get his own ride home

  17. TheGiannisPiece

Bill Simmons, and presumably every other Boston ‘national’ media voter, just named Mazzula the 3rd best Coach in the NBA — just a couple weeks ago?!?

  18. Drawing_The_Line

I don’t know, I think that more intense staring, media fake-tough guy routines and zero adjustments will eventually get us to a championship. /s

  19. icculus_prophet

Stakes are too high with this group? This is the same soft team we’ve been watching for years. Tatum ain’t built to be the best player on a championship team. This team needs an overhaul.

  20. milespeeingyourpants

Fuck Bert Breer. He’s a lazy football hot taker.

  21. atlantadynasty

Bring Nick Nurse in I believe. We need a proven coach. We have such a strong squad, we should have been killing everyone
