The Jays are now super max eligible
Both players are now super max eligible
Brown in 2024 and Tatum in 2025
Tatum earned back-to-back All-NBA and does not need to be named in 2023-24. https://t.co/bDSeXd5j4H

Good then we can sign and trade Tatum

“Who needs a title when you’re making $68MM a year either way?” – The Jays
What else is 600 mil good for if not a few more playoff appearances
It seems some people would rather we run a much higher risk of losing Brown for nothing. We likely just avoided the worst case scenario.
It’s okay to acknowledge that having 2 SM players likely means Bostons squad will not improve but regress. I think this would be much, much better received if they weren’t being outplayed by James Harden and about to get knocked out as heavy favorites in a series against a hobbled MVP. This is also the most wide open the East has been in a decade — all the stars aligned and the Jays, the Cs and the coaching has shrunk. If we won the chip, everyone would be ecstatic to pay JB supermax $$.
Need to win now it’s gonna be hard to build around 2 super maxes unless wyc is willing to go deep in the tax every year
I think Jaylen signs the extension then gets traded to a western conference team with a star PG and in need of a versatile wing like the Kings or Grizz. Celtics would get a huge return and they can start building for Tatum’s peak in 2-3 years.
Bums
Good! LFG now. Celtics in 7
We have two of the top 10 players in the league. Unreal.
Now win this series in a super max worthy style
Both of them have yet to hit their primes, I say give it to them both and ride with the Jays, they should only get better and I don’t really see how you make the team better without either one of them
