What did you think of Rick Carlisle's second season coaching the Pacers?

Anyone else remembers how Pacers/Rick spent the entire summer of 2022 pushing the 'We are working to improve Defense HARD' propaganda?
And in the end, Rick presented:
a) a shitty defense
b) a defense, that was at the exact same place post All-Star break, where it had been in 2022 (dead last, for those wondering).
Carlisle is selling Simon a bill of goods on the defensive front.
So Rick is the Bruce Dickinson of the Pacers?
How about when Nembhard makes mistake? I barely see him get sub out, unlike Mathurin or Hield.
You all have to walk A fine line. I appreciate You trying to be as objective as possible. I don't expect You to blast Carlisle when you have post game interviews with him 42 games at least a year and interviews before and after practices.
This all I'm saying. I don't think Carlisle is A terrible coach. Not at all. What annoys Me is the fact the Mavericks won the chip in 2011 makes him forever A great Coach in lots of fans and media's eyes.
These are the facts. Dallas didn't make it out the first round after that championship season.
Carlisle only played Jalen Brunson 19mpg the 7 game playoff series against the Clippers even though He was shooting 45 percent from 3. He played Hardaway jr 30-35 minutes instead.
All Jason Kidd do was start Brunson the following playoff season. Even without Porzingis who is A damn good player the Mavericks made the conference finals literally the year after Carlisle leaves.
Bjorkgren did a much better job with the the exact same roster that Carlisle had and even had a 20 plus point blowout win on the road the first play in game without Myles Turner.
When Jalen Rose was traded to Pacers Larry Brown barely played Him. Rose said if it weren't for Larry Brown resigning and Larry Bird taking over He would have never developed into the most improved player in the league and average 20 ppg.
Larry Brown is A GREAT Coach not good. But He most definitely wasn't great for Jalen. Both those things are true in the NBA.
I'm not at all convinced Carlisle Is the best Coach for these young core players ESPECIALLY Mathurin. Not at all even.
I don't mind the accountability.
I just think it's dumb ass manipulative mind game playing pulling Mathurin the final game of the year against the Knicks that meant absolutely nothing.
Is Carlisle a good Coach for Haliburton and Nembhardt. SO FAR.
In my humble opinion I'd much rather see an upstart young Coach like just an example JJ Reddick take over this team and move Carlisle into the front office. I think Carlisle did for this team what Mark Jackson did for Golden State before Kerr was hired.
He has the team believing they can win and have a identity. I just would much rather see an upstart hungry young Coach take over at this point or at the very least after this year.
I wasn't saying at all I want Pacers to hire JJ Reddick. I was just using that as an example. I think this team would take off and sprout wings with an upstart proven NBA player turned Coach that Is hungry and has something to prove.
Doesn't mean I'll be right. I'd love to be proven dead wrong and Carlisle Coach this team to 50 wins and Mathurin become an NBA All star.
I just don't see it. I'd rather the Pacers do what OKC and Utah did. Hire an upstart hungry has something to prove doesn't know what his ceiling is rookie Coach. Doesn't have to be a former NBA player but I think this team would really rally even more if it were.
I like Carlisle's press conferences. He's never boring after the game press conferences. I don't at all dislike Him as A person. Just in My opinion he's too damn stubborn and manipulative.
We shall see. Just my opinion. Doesn't mean I'll be right. I hope I'm not and He wins Coach of the year and Pacers win 50 games. I just absolutely do not see that happening with Him leading the troops
