  1. This is a bad idea I see Steve Nash all over this. Steve was a great shooter as well and look how that turned out.

  2. I haven't watched it yet since I'm at work right now but I just want to say; I like the idea of JJ being the coach. He's young enough to still level with our young boys and vets. He's smart, composed and has no scuff on his rep (that I know of) and he's not on that clown juice. Definitely one of the very few choices I'm comfortable with.

  3. Steve Kerr was the GM of the suns and an analyst years before he coached. He's been around Pop, Phil, and Dantoni. He has alot more credentials than JJ at the time of his hiring. This would be a joke of a hire. I don't understand how players with no coaching experience not even assistance coaching experience are getting jobs.

  4. One thing I can say Nash wasn’t respected he wasn’t outside.. jj get love from all his teammates… Nash never showed anything outside his career he cared about ball… jj gonna give up a bag for a stressful job

  5. I don't know what to think about this one….I still can't get over what the man said about Larry Bird, lol. But I do trust Masai and the team so I'm gonna leave it at that…..

  6. You know jj felt comfortable with toronto he wants that job his ass sent a resume in he want that job.. he sent a PowerPoint presentation

  7. Id be happy if JJ trained our shooters to be honest 😂 not a coach

  8. They need to hire him…he got real high Heat basketball ball experience…the players will take him seriously

  9. If we going with a former player, preferably a coach with NBA coaching experience or a former all-star/HoF PG.

We just looking desperate at this point

  10. No for me, I dont think he's ready to be HC however, he could definitely be an assistant/shooting coach which addresses our shooting woes. I think that would tremendously help our squad.

  11. For Jj to do this tells me he’s ambitious, didn’t show his hand and knew when to strike. He had to have been plottin, hopefully he has more plottin up his sleeve because it’s the perfect time frame for the raptors to strike

  12. Masai is just getting a perspective from all these interviewees. I don't think he is looking to hire him as a HC. Maybe as a shooting coach. There are over 20+ candidates so far that has been interviewed if we believe what Michael Grange has said.

  13. Im all for this hire. He's knowledgeable on the game, high IQ player. can teach guys how to shoot and get easy buckets. Pascal not working so hard to score. Fresh perspective, and also might be attractive for free agent's as he respected around the league. But yeah i dont want my HC doing podcast, that shit will have to stop.

  14. I did see some interview where JJ Redick said he would want to be a coach, especially at Duke. This was before retirement and espn. I would love to have him as AC/shooting coach. Not in favour of HC for him. He got to wait in line and do the time, like the except from non-white coaches.

  15. It’s too risky for JJ to become a head coach with no coaching experience. Yes, he’s smart, great shooter, knows how to analyze the game, but does he have the ability to motivate different personalities with varying skills and needs? Will he be able to come up with clutch plays in the last 30 seconds of a must-win game? Does he have what it takes to cultivate a winning and self-less culture? Too many questions with no proven answers. In time, if he does get that experience in NCAA or as an assistant coach, then maybe later in the future. Becky Hammon is a much stronger candidate IMHO.

  16. I would say, JJ would be a good assistant coach to Jerry Stackhouse. This teams needs to learn how to shoot. Just get what I said here done Raptors lol.

  17. Really, with all these other assistant coaches going through the ranks and honing their craft, we're thinking of JJ. How does he even get an interview, because of his vocabulary?
    This is April's fool prank.

  18. I like the outside the box thinking. No stone left unturned and all cards should be on the table as far as coaching staff/roster construction goes this summer. People losing their shit over the mere report of an interview like they know something we don’t lol

  19. It is sad for raptors organization to interview JJ for head coach . Are we that desperate ? Nick Nurse is probably laughing at us.

  20. I never understood how jackson gets black balled but udoka gets hired almost instantly

  21. Was waiting for the Paul George podcast mention 😂 fucking rediculos. Most of these guys can't expling why they are good at the sport. I can give better description of my walking then how these guys talk about ball on the pro level

  22. Tbh I feel like JJ has no filter and will tell the players the truth … I think it’s worth a shot … I didn’t even know who tf nurse was before lol and look how that worked out

  23. More like Steve Nash effect. This guy hasn’t even coached anything and got an interview lol. Sounds like free publicity more than anything or just noise.
