  1. I feel like with Rudy Gobert, we just play silly games and mental gymnastics in order to justify how good he is.

For example: “smart analysts” get so hooked on the fact that rudy prevents so many shots from happening, which doesn’t pop up in the box score…which does happen. And every bit of that is true, but since it’s an “unquantifiable” statistic, people can take it to the extreme and proclaim that he’s this defensive god. Yes our numbers defensively were good with him on the court, but were we really a better team?

What more is there to see from Gobert? People don’t like playing with him. Every part of Anthony Edwards game does not compliment rudy at all and vice versa. Even if our “big-man” duo improves, teams will adjust. That’s how the NBA works. We literally don’t have leverage schematically. I want KAT gone and I want Gobert gone.

  2. With the assumption that we might run it back with 2-bigs, I find it so hard to believe that Chris Finch truly believes that this can work. Any bit of improvement that does happen with the big-man duo, the league will equally counter with a scheme of their own.

  3. Even if we gave up zero picks for Gobert, the fit and the contract still suck.

Even if the fit worked, the contract and the picks given up sucked.

Even if the contract was a veteran minimum, the fit and the picks given up still sucked.

Lucky us, we got all 3: terrible contract, terrible fit, terrible loss of draft capital

  4. i’m tellin you man, if we signed jeremi grant and kept KAT at the 5, this team would’ve been a lot better. jeremi grant is a better fit, he is cheaper, he spaces better, he fits a modern nba scheme, he can actually catch a basketball, he wouldn’t have any issues with ant, and kat would be at this comfortable position at center. and we would have kept a majority of our draft picks. life would have been good
