I love Rupert as well, he's another guy I'd hope the Spurs could trade back into the lottery for to take him. If we get Wemby, pairing him with another Frenchman to grow with would be exciting and hopefully help keep him here long term. Having Wemby, Jeremy, and Rayan on the court at the same time would be a tough/versatile defensive team that would give even the best offensive teams in the league a complex matchup problem to deal with.
Only seen two games of him.. but it looks like he's one of these guys that are really good at getting back after getting beaten on defense. Like you're thinking "nice, screen got him off me" and then there he is out of fkin nowhere.
Offensive arsenal is pretty much non existent tho
IF we trade for a mid-late first round pick and he's still there.. sure.. why not. But we should also start looking for NBA-ready guys. Cant develope 18 year olds forever.
In my opinion, Rayan Rupert makes a lot of sense for the Spurs if they win the lottery so they could pair Rupert with his fellow Frenchman, Victor Wembanyama.
