Why the time is now for the White Sox

For the White Sox to get back in the race, they need to follow the words of manager Pedro Grifol who said, “We have to make a move here soon.” Chuck Garfien and Ryan McGuffey are joined by 2005 World Series hero Scott Podsdenik to discuss the White Sox sense of urgency, if they have what it takes to embrace the challenge of turning their season around, and much more.

  1. Anyone expecting the Sox to all the sudden stop being awful aren't paying attention

They're getting blown out of games multiple times a week now. For whatever reason, and there are many, this roster isn't compatible and needs to be blown up

  2. Is time to raise the white flag and try to put a good team together for next year, management in general did a bad job putting this team together, .. the mind set for now is to figure out who to trade and who to keep,, .

  3. This team is headed for yet another rebuild but I don’t think the current front office should get another chance to do it

  4. I get youre paid to be supportive, but its time to start being realistic. The biggest achievement this team can make is getting back to 500 and staying healthy. Even then theyre not a playoff team. Front office is worst in the league, management is TLR again, and the players are all underachieving and soft. You think Yoan is just gonna come back and save this team? LOL. Or eloy returning for the 3rd time before the all star break LOL

  5. Jerry Rhinesdorf is thinking right now, why have this high payroll and still get crap results? And these pitchers had 6 weeks in spring training to 'figure it out' and we're 6 weeks into the season and they're still trying to 'figure it out'? Either you have it or you don't. You can't just assume that any day now it'll start to click.

  6. Is there a sport that is played professionally for the love of the game?
Sports in my opinion these days are trash. The magic that surrounded professional sports is gone in the wind. Kinda like the spirit that vanished in 1969. Or the jolt of electricity that surged the 1984 Chicago Bears.
They don't have the magic you need to win day in and day out. That extra base the steal the the grinding for defense. They just don't have it. And to get it. You have to believe.

  7. Pedro needs to be gone period, its been a month a month & a half & he's done NOTHING to improve this team to be halfway decent. Can't beat the Royals in a series, lost to the over achieving Pirates & a horrible Giants team. The pitching rotation & bullpen is god awful & the lineup isn't good. If Pedro made this team somewhat ok I can deal with it but he hasn't!

  8. Hiring Grifol was putting a band-aid over a bullet hole. Fish stink from the head down. In 11 years, only two playoff appearances, one division title, and three winning seasons speaks for itself.
