Easily worth it I think the interesting aspect will be how this impacts an extension for IQ who was runner up for the 6th man of the year. IQ will most likely be looking for more than whatever we are paying Hart. All an all I expect Hart to get a 3+1 (TO) type of a deal maybe 4/70M.

Honestly that may be a problem given how the Heat have exposed him in the playoffs. He really needs to work in his 3 point shot

Fair deal. 4/60, easily tradeable if he doesn’t work out

I could see Hart getting 18-21 million per, because he’s has all the leverage in negotiations. We traded a pick for him, so we can’t afford to let him walk. And honestly he has a great impact on the game and can guard multiple positions, so I’m down on bringing him back. Even if that means we overpay for him.

worth every penny. one more game like yesterday and it might be $14-$17 mil per

Easily worth it despite his struggles in this series

  7. We shouldn’t let a few bad games dissuade us from signing Hart. That’s how you get Jalen Brunson situations (he sucked in one series and Mavs became relunctant to extend him right away).

I believe the Hart we saw the past 2 months to be the real Hart and not the one from these last 2 games (foul trouble playing a big factor for these performances).

Sign him for 4 years at $72mil and offer IQ 5 years at $80 and trade Randle to the Sacramento Kings for Monk and Murray.

I’m cool with that. Let’s get the deal done.

Worth every penny to keep Brunson happy. I don’t think Brunson would appreciate watching the organization not pay his guy his worth, even if we have to over pay him a bit.

  11. QUINNFLORE

the fact that teams don’t guard him on the 3 point line has to be a concern

How easily we forget the deals we gave Fournier, Rose, and Noel.

People don’t realize the tv deal with spike salaries to 2016 level of salary jump. Locking these guys now is the smartest move.

Not expensive for a glue guy with a solid attitude tbh.

Extremely fair deal. Struggling a bit this series but that’s not a lot of money. At this point they are going to be operating over the cap regardless, might have to use Fourniers money this summer/deadline.

I love this guy, he’s one of my fave Knicks right now even though he’s been here the least amount of time, I hope they find a way to keep him.

Here’s the current salaries by player:

$15MM is ~100th highest paid salary – players include Tyus Jones, Will Barton, Kevin Huerter, Malik Beasley, Jusuf Nurkic

`$17MM – $18MM is ~80th highest paid salary – players include Clint Capela, Steven Adams, OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr, Marcus Smart, Derrick White, Bogdan Bogdanovic

$20MM is ~65th highest paid salary – players include Mikal Bridges, Jarrett Allen, Jerami Grant, Lonzo Ball, THJ, Aaron Gordon

Hart is better than the $15MM player.

$17-$18MM has a mix of players.

I think the $20MM players are generally a tier above him.

Fair market value is probably $16MM-$17MM, Knicks will pay a Brunson tax and a draft pick tax, so guessing he’ll get $18MM to $19MM.

I’m okay with Hart struggling at times, part of the game. He plays hard, and has great chemistry with Brunson/the rest of team. You need solid role players that aren’t afraid to do the dirty work. We’d be fools to get rid of him based on a couple off nights.

  19. wizardofweird

Pay this man, I want him here for the next 4 years

  20. If that’s the target offer then let’s get it done and move on

Josh hart is amazing. Good defense, energy, great attitude, chemistry, leadership, rebounding, the guy just has a knack for being around the ball. He deserves 18-20 easy.
