Why Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels was left off the NBA All-Defensive Team

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels did not make an NBA All-Defensive Team this year despite being one of the league’s very best all-around perimeter defenders by almost any metric. Ben Beecken (@bbeecken) dives into why this happened, as well as what his own NBA awards ballots looked like for several of the key awards, as well as the collective Locked On NBA host awards ballot.

  1. I’m kinda a menace for this because in a sense i think this is good that Jaden doesn’t make it. This gives him another year to prove himself and truly solidify himself as one of the best defenders in basketball.

At the age of 22, sometimes when players do get fancy awards, they then get paid and then disappoint. Regardless i was so bummed that he didn’t make any of the teams. I’m sure he’s gonna get plenty of chances in the coming years.

  2. He was snubbed because he was a immature baby half his fouls were him getting mad that he didn't get the call and him breaking his hand the way he did didn't help plus his inconsistent three's in the corners reminded me of okogie

  3. Props to you for having Lu Dort and Nic Claxton too. Those guys had a rly good argument
