Hoping we figure out what’s best for JK. Was it a maturity issue that he couldn’t get minutes? I just don’t get it, don’t know what’s happening behind closed doors.
soooo he wants to be like looney, for which he has to see looney everyday and ask him for tips, so he is staying, for which kerr will have to play him. Hopefully improving his rebounding gets kerr’s confidence in him.
Insane that Kuminga didn’t get minutes when Poole was cheeks
That’s definitely one way to force Kerr’s hand. If he keeps up his defense and becomes a board man, Kerr will play him even if the shot ain’t falling.
Great mentality to have as a young guy. Moody got minutes because he played within his role, hustled hard, and played good defense. No doubt that Kuminga could do at least what Moody did.
Bro just crash the boards wtf
Rebounding and ball handling. Big weaknesses of JK’s. If he works on that, he’s primed for a breakout year.
I’m a big believer in this guy. The talent and mentality is something you can’t teach, you just need to give him the room and tools to grow.
I really hope we keep him, and hopefully Kerr gives him minutes.
Only thing JoKu can do is to work hard and show to the guys that he deserves to play and help the team win.
This is a big off-season for kuminga. He’s already got a decent feel for the game, but there’s so much that can be improved upon. Hoping to see a tighter handle and more consistent shooting to go along with improved rebounding. He should also talk with gp2 about knowing when and how to make a cut
Board man gets paid.
I really hope we do what it takes to hold onto JK. I’ve been a huge fan since I first saw him in action, and with the way he was developing over this past season I think he’ll have a huge impact next year.
No offense to looney, but Jk has a much higher ceiling.
Yeah I felt like we had an Otto Porter sized hole for 20 min a game we he was going to fill. Hopefully next year is break our years for him and Moody. Otherwise we ate going to be ducked with no young players lol
Board man gets paid route
Should be handles and corner 3.
Don’t really see how he fits this team with what Kerr is committed to.
Hopefully the entire exit interview gets posted soon — hard to get context from these cherry-picked quotes. I’m trying to infer if this is what he’s being told that he needs to improve upon to get that “full-time role” he wants.
This is really bad, the messages the young guys internalized from Kerr’s coaching this season. Kuminga could be a Pippen type of ball player but is about to deconstruct his entire game, including his gifts just to get playing time from Kerr who doesn’t operate on merit anyway. He’s a relationship guy.
Kuminga should had gotten some minutes but we weren’t going to win either way so it doesn’t matter. With Klay and Poole’s shooting, we were destined to be 2nd round exits.
He has the physical tools to do this. Has to put it together.
I think moody and kuminga will be very solid
Now that’s more like it.
what about stop complaining because u didnt get playing time? loon never complains
Great, go foe greatness young brother.
On one hand, people are screaming for the Warriors to get win-now players around Steph to keep open the championship window. On the other, they don’t want any of the young guys moved. Can’t have both and surely one of Moody or Kuminga will be moved. Sucks because both have a ton of potential.
Starters
Steph: GOAT
Klay(possibly): needs to lock in and be himself again. No gloating. Play elite 3 and D.
Wiggins: Death, Taxes and Wiggs getting 17. Good board man too. Good D.
Draymond(possibly): defensive anchor and primary QB. Idky people want to get rid of him. He’s been consistently himself forever and doesn’t look like he’ll slow down.
Looney: Board man gets Boards. Iron man as well
Bench
Poole(possibly): should be in the dog house with the coaches for his shot selection and his lack of effort on defense. If he wants to be the guy then trade him. If he wants to be patient and wait for his opportunity then I wanna see him putting up 15-17 a night on 45+/35+/80+ a night and staying with his man.
Payton II: love him. Great defense. Full season with the team will do him well.
Moody: needs to be getting 15-20 a night in place of Wiggins/Klay when they sit. Proves his worth in the playoffs. Hustles for rebounds and on D. Needs to take more shots. 10 ppg at least.
Kuminga: the staff needs to decide what they want to do with him asap. He’s got so much potential. He needs to train with Wiggins, Butler and Kawhi this offseason or something. Model his game after them.
These are the guys I mostly expect to be on the team next year who were contributors this year. Klay and Draymond need to sit down with the FO and have Steph there. They need to all talk about what’s gonna happen moving forward and if they want to get paid or if they want to win. They need to take paycuts if they wanna win. Curry should give them stake in Curry Brand or something to compensate for the less money
maturity
Do not trade this man
Yes, JK. Grind in the off season and take that next step forward.
Earn that rotation spot. He’s too athletic to be benched as much as he was.
The new Rodman.
Look at Looney man so inspirational
Just has to not ball watch. He has been caught doing that several times. Moody got minutes because of how aggressive he went for the rebounds. Kuminga can do the same.
