this season sucked! cheering for a losing team with no real direction on top of fans being priced out. I can see why no one was cheering
edit* skimmed and misread
That’s the real basketball fans in this city before they got priced out ! Lower the prices and you’ll get your amazing crowd back MLSE.

Not surprising. Women’s basketball fans are extremely passionate.
If people enjoy it, great.
I don’t watch WNBA not because Toronto doesn’t have a team but for the same reason I don’t watch college ball or the G League. I want to see the best basketball players in the world compete.
Damn I was really hoping Vancouver would get a shot at a WNBA team. But I’ll still be happy to see a team in Canada none the less.
The crowd was so loud for Serge
I don’t think a WNBA game would be like this 41 home games a year in Toronto. This is great and all but it’s a one time exhibition game.
When was he at a game? I went this year and few times before the prices skyrocketed and there is no comparison between the two. Before I couldn’t hear my dad right next to me and now it’s a lot of suits and people there for social media purposes. This last time I went this girl made her boyfriend pose for at least 300 spontaneous selfies and Instagram stories, I felt bad for the dude.
I do hate the gate keeping. There are lots of “real” fans attending the expensive Raptors games. You aren’t a real fan by only being able to afford cheap tickets.
I do think it sucks that there are people who can’t afford to go to games though.
The crowd sucks because the team sucked.
Real fans can’t afford the tickets fym
because the actual basketball fans are able to afford to go. It’s the problem with every single team in Toronto. As soon as the team becomes really popular, Scalpers come in full force and the businesses start holding meetings at these games, basically killing a lot of the vibe. If Toronto gets a WNBA team and they’re good, they’ll probably follow the same problem where the entire vibe is carried by the fans in the 300-level, since that’s all the average fan can afford.
The amount of people pretending that a Toronto WNBA team will routinely sell out Scotiabank Arena is actually absurd.
This is a one time game, I promise 3 seasons into a potential Toronto’s WNBA teams existence there won’t be half the passion or lip service towards it.
The product isn’t up to par, it’s just a novelty thing now.
