[Shams Charania] Breaking: The Phoenix Suns are parting ways with head coach Monty Williams, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium

If things don’t go our way tomorrow Doc should be gone. Monty should be our top pursuit if we don’t promote Sam Cassell.

Hey I would love me some Monty Williams the suns are just trash

Man I remember when people were acting like we let prime Pop or Spo go during Monty’s (great) start. Problem is outside like 3 coaches, all of them are replaceable and recyclable.

I like Monty overall but I also understand the firing, they blew a 2-0 lead in the Finals then back-to-back seasons ending in unacceptable 40pt ass-kickings at home in the 2nd round when championship was the goal.

Excellent idea to replace one playoff choker with another

HELL NO. this is the guy that believes in mid range over 3pointers. the suns got upset and destroyed by the mavs because he doesnt understand 3 is more than 2.

  5. Not sure on this one, he’s definitely a talented coach but he doesn’t really bring out the toughness in his teams.

They fired scouts and an executive too. Gave up a lot for Durant and he didn’t do much. I would argue this puts Rivers on the hot seat too. Especially with some of the comments from Harden and Joel past couple days.

  7. Let’s just give Doc a chance tomorrow. Before the series many would have been happy with 7, regardless about feelings towards Doc.

Monty’s playoff woes aside, what we have here is another Jerry Jones/Mark Cuban ~~owner~~ governor.

Monty had to deal with Ayton’s bullshit all season, then the owner trades away all his depth mid-season for an aging superstar. Insane.

3 coaches who won the championship past 4 years have been fired. Player league. Coaches aren’t blame free but def fall guys.

Sixers should hire him regardless of the outcome of tomorrows game. He’s a great coach got them to the finals. Not his fault Deandre Ayton is soft and CP3 can’t stay healthy.

No. No retreads/less successful versions of a coach we already have.

    Don’t care.

Doc has been fine these playoffs. It’s up to the players to step up.

We need a coach that fits to our players, that gets the maximum out of Embiid.
