  1. Not a fan of Windy but after reading 2 or 3 profiles of Wembanyama the last couple days I learned a lot about him. Seen videos on Victor, ready profiles of him in the past, seen stuff about his mother and father and his siblings. Seen footage obviously, whether it was game footage or from him, or [stuff like this where you imagine Monte Morris trying to guard him.](https://twitter.com/Metropolitans92/status/1656001419302797314)

But reading about how driven he is, how his agent has known the family since before he was born, how his family is all athletes and so they’ve raised him in different ways to always take his height and huge feet into account during his development, it was enlightening.

He adamant about staying who he is and not being forced into the post, and while a lot of prospects have “gym rat” stories it was still encouraging to see his parents and handlers talking about how obsessive he was with wanting to work on his game that they had to drag him out of the gym after sessions were supposed to have been long over.

But the one anecdote that got me was them saying he’d been having issues working on keeping his guide hand closed on his shot. Then they came into the next session and he’d fixed it and they were like what happened, and Victor said he’d put little tiny pieces of paper in between his fingers on his left hand so it forced him to learn to keep his hand closed.

That kind of dedication and drive to be better, as a teenager, is fantastic.

being an ”epic gamer” really thought me how overhyped products usually not what they are sold to be.
