    Lou Gehrig. Clyde.

But the old legends benefited from playing before social media and insane sports media. That’s contributed to a lot of brain rot in sports discourse.

Don’t listen to sports radio anymore. This dude was calling for Randle to not come back several days ago. One day says rj is a bust and next day oh we can build around him. Sports radio died after mike and the mad dog

Randle isn’t Efficient though. It’s volume league average offense in his best year with historically bad numbers when the game tightens up. Clutch/playoffs. That said he’s not wrong the 10 and 5 are extremely important and on paper fixing the defensive effort and complaining should be fixable. I guess it’s hard to argue these guys don’t deserve another year. Even though deep down we all know the ceiling of another thibs randle barret brigade. You also aren’t getting an 8 seed in the second round again. Atleast let obi free and get a defensive 4 in there that maybe, just maybe, thibs will at-least consider, playing him so we don’t have to watch randle walk around for 38 minutes some nights.

My approach with Randle is that you can appreciate Randle for what he did to bring the Knicks back to relevancy. I’ll always appreciate him for that. But for us to take the next step it might take moving on.

Jeter, Clyde… maybe Piazza though not homegrown. Tom Seaver? Mariano?

They aren’t trading Randle or firing Thibs, better buckle up

David Wright? Jose Reyes? Eli? Strahan? Tuck? Jeter?

He makes a good point, our other players aren’t that good for us to trade Randle away. If we acquired a star player or someone that’s really good, it would be a lot easier to move on from him.

I don’t like Randle, but you have to worry about replacing his production (25/10/5). We do need to get rid of him if we want to get to next level because he’s always gonna play bad in the playoffs.

  10. Didnt he say after Game 6 that Randle needs to get traded? Now he says he is not giving up on him or did he say he was giving up on him. Anyways knick fans dont care about this but i have reason to believe there is an issue between randle and thibs. I think Thibs deserves blame for randle shortcomings in the playoffs. Not all the blame obviously but for some reason fans think randle and thibs are like a team when to me it doesnt seem that way. Randle even brought up johnnie Bryant many times. There was also a report last year that said a star player on the Knicks (either randle or barrett) was frustrated with thibs. I think the fo will choose thibs over randle. Randle will be traded this offseason. Wish it could work out in ny but i dont think randle wants to be the guy who gets this type of hate he can win in other places.

It’s not just his attitude. He has no handle and he can’t create space vs playoff defenses. His style of play demands offensive usage, but during crunch time or vs playoff defense he becomes a turnover machine that forces bad shots. His awareness is bad. He senses double teams coming way too late and his instincts of where to go with the ball when he is doubled is 50/50 at best. I wish it was just attitude, although attitude is what makes the flaws I listed above more unforgivable because it makes me and other fans dislike Randle even more. It’s one thing to play like shit in the playoffs, it’s another to do that AND be shitty about it.

And as for perfect NY athletes? What an absurd question. No one is perfect. We’re not asking for perfect, but who do we love and respect even when they fail? To name a few: Jeter, Judge, Donnie Baseball, Mo, Clyde, Willis Reed, LT, Eli, Strahan, Messier, Richter. I can keep going but what NY fans want are stars who put winning first.

Randle consistently shows that’s not always the most important thing to him. He showed it this playoffs when he was mad for being benched even though we won the game. And he was mad knowing he was playing like shit. Now I get being competitive, but don’t be so outwardly upset that you make that the story instead of look how you’re team picked you up when you were down. He shows he cares more about his own ego and stats every time he’s not shooting well so he pouts and half asses it on the defensive end. Why should we accept that?
