Grizzlies suspend Ja Morant after video surfaces of him with a firearm | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

The Memphis Grizzlies suspended Ja Morant from all team activities yesterday after a video surfaced of Morant flashing a gun on a friend’s Instagram Live account. This comes two months after Morant served an 8-game suspension for flashing a gun on his own Instagram Live account. An NBA spokesperson said “We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are in the process of gathering more information.” Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes react.

  1. Would Bryce Harper be flashing a hand gun like that wth the same friend who pointed a gun at another team?😂

  2. I use to be a Chris Broussard fan till today. I lost all respect for him after this take. It is this kind of OG’s making such stupid excuses is the reason why he never learned his lesson. Also, reason why the black community is what it is in America.

  3. Thank you Nick wright for calling broussard on his excuses of no no laws being broken.

There's an uproar because during one of his original incidents multiple members of a stadium security said they saw a red laser which they believed came from a gun out of a car that Morant was driving in. It doesn't matter if it was morant or his friend. Someone pointed a gun at security. Morant said he would be more aware of his actions and yet here he is still waving a gun around. I'm staying to think Morant was the clown that pointed it. Someone is going to get shot eventually. Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. He's eat to casual flashing his weapon

  4. Wtf is this first guy talking about!? No 1 said he broke a fkn law, he’s part of a multi billion dollar company !! The standard is higher for someone who is a face of a company!! Race had nothing to do with it!! FKN joke 🤦🏽‍♂️another enabler

  5. Josh Allen, Bryce Harper and Hockey players arent influenced by gang culture. Thats why it wouldn't be a big deal. Black culture has given sociey many wondeful things. Not sure wannabe gang culture is one of them.

  6. Ja and his crew flashing handguns is not equivalent to a southern Hick who likes to shoot guns for fun haha

  7. I've been thinking what Bru said this whole time. It was definitely dumb given the circumstances, but it's not like he was breaking the law. That being said, personal safety, gun safety, brand safety & more all get thrown out the window when you treat firearms like toys as a guy in his position

  8. Not a good take by both. Sure there has been historical evidence of racial bias in terms of firearm, but not now. Ja is being reckless with a fire arm. Black or white athlete shouldn’t be allow to do this. Ja got that fake gangster culture on display. Us responsible gun owners, black/white/yellow/brown understand gun safety and do not bring racial components into this.

  9. He’s an NBA PLAYER!! A “role model” is what he’s supposed to be. You can’t hold him the the same standards as your everyday Joe because he’s not that. He happens to be a black man who has made the same mistake twice while holding a very prestigious title of being an NBA player hands down. That’s it.

  10. Brou cannot be serious with this race bait garbage… cant believe the producers even allowed that stupidity to air, makes the whole show look bad.

  11. Respect for Broussard? Plummeted. Garbage take. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THIS MAN! Race has nothing to do with it. No4 does legality. It's a BAD LOOK for the NBA!! Bru has GOT to know that too :/

  12. REMEMBER the Washington Bullets change their name because of GUNS !!!!!!! HE GOTS TO GO.

  13. As a gun owner and someone who supports the 2nd Amendment, it’s not about him having a gun that’s the issue. It’s him being irresponsible with it. There’s a difference between conceal carrying for your protection and brandishing your gun in night clubs or IG lives while driving down the freeway
