I believe in JP

Yes he had a bad post season, but the dude dropped 43 points just 3-4 months ago, wanting to trade him is ridiculous, especially when Steph considers him to be the “Key” to bridging the gap between the new and the old players.

I’m rooting for him. Just hope the vibes aren’t off with him and the core 3.

  2. That video also highlights his court vision and passing. That’s what the people who say we can easily find another shoot-first guard are overlooking.

If he can be traded to make the team better I think it should be done. It doesn’t matter what he did during the regular season, dude played horribly in the playoffs and cost the team when it mattered most, not to mention the problems in the locker room.

I think a lot of the people who want him traded is because they see he doesn’t want to be in golden state anymore

I believe in JP the player, just not in a Warriors uniform.

He’ll bounce back. He was a key piece of the team this/last year. Work ethic is off the charts. He’s handled the situation with Draymond incredibly professionally.

I believe in JP too. But the problem is, if they don’t trade him, they are essentially just running it back. The warriors are very TOP heavy. They have no other trade piece of value. It’s looking like they’d have to trade JP or Klay to get a good player in return. And.. I don’t think any team wants Klay in that contract. For those wanting to trade the youngs guys, you will not get anyone better for their contracts.

JP plays no defense. He is the reason the whole team was bad on that end all season

I don’t mind a guy who isn’t great at defense, but defense, IMO, is mostly about effort and Poole doesn’t even try. Even when Curry was limited by his frame, I never thought he was that bad as he fought over screens and used his brain. Poole is really, really bad and his offense isn’t good enough to make up for it.

I don’t think jp and Draymond can both be here next season. It’s pretty clear to me and I’d rather have the core together personally. The punch has obviously changed things listening to his comments on the exit interview. I don’t think he wants to be here anymore. I think it’s best for both sides as for what we can get back. Idk. I hope it’s a good return based on what he’s done as a whole and not just the postseason.

Not sure about everyone else, but it felt like JP didn’t want to be out there playing and competing. You can see it in his body language and the effort levels; 0 energy, giving up on plays, staring at the refs after he got touched expecting a whistle, letting players blow by him with one move, making dumb fouls, taking dumb shots. It was just constant and extremely hard to watch, considering Steph/Loon/Wiggs were out there working their assess off every night to give them a chance. Hell, even Moody showed out in his limited minutes. In my opinion, JP got too caught up in foul baiting/drawing fouls and it threw him off his game.

No one is asking for him to drop 43, just be a decent player that has BBIQ and doesn’t make the worst kind of TOs

Also Steph literally got himself ejected because of his dumb play and actions speak louder than words

  14. I don’t think this sub doesn’t believe in him. It’s his attitude, saying it was a good season I made a game winner and had good games …like what??

He should be pissed they got tossed and he played horribly. He got his money and now he’s like imma chill. He should be checking with Steph and working on his game, trying to get better not saying we did good this year. No you did not, Steph pulled you guys out of first round with Sacramento. It was all him, where is the accountability saying I need to do better, I need to work harder.

  15. KrankShift

It’s all about the off season for him. If he works as hard as those around him says he does than I think next season should be on the up for JP. Most likely won’t be immediate but I wanna see by Christmas break if he’s able to turn it around and be the player he’s capable of.

  16. Ok-Roof-978

Someone is gonna get traded bc it’s the only way the team can change the roster.

My guess is that if Draymond gets an extension , bye bye JP. I don’t think they’ll ever recover from the fight .

Especially since it’s rumored Draymond punched him bc JP wasn’t listening to Kerr . Which means that it had nothing to do with Dray. And sounds like he just was in a shitty mind space and wanted to punch someone. Not like JP made personal insults. I’d say those kind of fights, there’s no mending the broken trust.

If no trade, we’re running it back. We’ll prob be a second round exit again. Our stars need more help bc , you know, the body has limits.

  17. profskippy

I believe in him. He will do great in Orlando.

  18. slicenger7

People forget this man averaged 28 PPG when Curry was out. And let’s not forget, the man’s still 23

  19. Dishavingfun

It feels like there’s an impasse regarding continue to title chase vs giving the young guys a long runway to succeed/fail.

    It is what it is.

    You’re missing important points.

    * He wasn’t just bad in the playoffs, he was bad all season.
    * He shot 33% from 3 on 7.8 3PA’s. That shows poor shot selection and a refusal to adjust.
    * He had the 3rd lowest eFG% on the team. He was only above Iguadala and Rollins. He was not at all efficient.
    * He’s been bad on defense all year.
    * He averaged 4.5 assists on 3.1 TO over the year.
    * If we keep him, he’ll make 28.7million next year. The 3rd highest guy on the payroll.
    * Steph could play until he’s 40, but he’ll only be great for another 2 or 3 years. Once he stops being great, the dynasty is over.

We lost this year largely because of our lack of depth. So ideally we’d trade Poole for 2 good role players. Taking a 28.7 million dollar chance on Poole getting better when we only have 2 or 3 years left to compete is too big of a risk.

  21. Nathan-Nice

Whether or not it’s ridiculous wanting to trade him all depends on what we get in return. Even Curry is tradeable if we were offered Giannis and 5 first rounders. Obviously that’s not going to happen. But if we could get a reliable, young 3&D guy for Poole, I’m all about it. Getting rid of him just for the sake of it, I’m not down with.

  22. CheeseFantastico

Not me. He’s not good for the Warriors. He won’t play the scheme, is wildly inconsistent with scoring, and I’ve literally never seen someone turn the ball over more in clutch situations. When the situation is tense, he has full body spasms and loses his mind, and yet seems to have no self-awareness of it. I cringe when he comes into games, even if he’s sporadically talented.

  23. Testadizzy95

His bballIQ, his attitude, his chemistry with the core, his effort or lack thereof, all his flaws cannot be overcome without sacrificing the remaining of Steph’s prime. I have seen enough

  24. Pinchoccio

No defense. Attitude problems. Poor decision making. Falls down in crunch time.

  25. msmith792

You need to look at Poole’s season stats. Second to last on the team in 3Pt percentage and top five in the league in turnovers. That isn’t a recipe for success.

  26. bdylan05

Trying to find a singular scapegoat for why the Warriors under performed this year is an exercise in futility or delusion.

Contributions to the Warriors struggles this year were made by (deep breath): the FO, Kerr, Dray, Klay, Wiggins’ absence, Stephs health, the bench, the vet min guys, the youth, and yes, Poole.

Basically, to win a championship you need 100 things to break your way. That happened last year and it feels like nothing broke our way this year. Hopefully we see growth and progression from Poole, Moody and Kuminga this summer that continues into next season and hopefully we will see our guys on another deep championship run. Time will tell.
